Been thinking, Rosen is on his rookie contract still for at least 2 years barring his year 5 option.

He has a higher ceiling and talent than anybody on this roster currently Behind Goff. If Goff goes down we are fucked.

Considering the talent at backup QB would you consider trading a pick for Rosen?

Would you trade a 4th-6th for Rosen?
I figure at the very least we could get a 5th for him down the road or a 6th cómp pick at worst case scenario.

I like the creativity, however, wait for it...

I just don’t like his cocky attitude.

Reminds me of Jay Cutler.

All applicants must be able to “Work well with others”.

I would, OP makes valid points

I feel he’s every bit as good and perhaps better than that kid in Denver

I've always been ok with Rosen for the record. But this isn't the right time to add a guy like him. This is a "tighten shit up" offseason IMO.

Plus, we don't want that ex-Cardinal stank on the team as we win another Super Bowl....

How much is he making over the next couple of years?

I am a bit shy of the fact that 2 NFL teams have given up on him so quickly.
With his talent? It strikes me as odd.

Considering his contract, no. Now, if Miami wants to pay us to take him, I'd listen. For example, if they're willing to trade us a 7th for our 7th or a 5th for our 6th, sure, I'll take Rosen. But I'm not trading anything of value for the guy.

I think they keep him. He would be a big upgrade over the UDFA's the Rams have. He would cost more but, not that much.

Q: What’s next for Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen after Tua Tagovailoa was drafted? Do you think the Dolphins will ultimately carry three quarterbacks on the active roster or do they roll the dice with just Fitz and Tua?
A:
It was former Dolphins coach Jimmy Johnson who said: “The most important player on the team is the starting quarterback. The second most important player is the backup quarterback.”
Ad Choices

With Tagovailoa on board, I’d say the third most important Dolphins player is the backup to the backup.
Look, Brian Flores did not shed any light when or whether Tagovailoa, who continues to recover from his November hip injury, will play this season.

We still do not know the true prospects of a full NFL season, as the month of May begins still in the thick of a coronavirus pandemic.
Regardless whether Tagovailoa plays, Fitzpatrick will continue to serve the role he was brought to Miami, which is being the bridge quarterback for Tagovailoa and Rosen to learn under.

And Rosen will continue to be a relatively cheap and talented option to have at quarterback.
Remember: Fitzpatrick is in the final year of a two-year deal he signed with Miami, which will pay him $8 million in 2020. And Rosen is owed $2,070,769 in 2020 and $2,879,694 in 2021, which are both fully guaranteed, making him a relatively cheap option as a starting or backup quarterback by NFL measures.
If Tagovailoa plays, Fitzpatrick will likely be Miami’s first backup in line, followed by Rosen.
If Tagovailoa is essentially redshirted, Fitzpatrick gets the nod over Rosen – unless Rosen can beat Fitzpatrick out in practice.
Dolphins fans should be excited Miami has both depth and competition at the quarterback position.

I'd rather have a vet with experience or a young running QB as a backup.

Having said that, i'd say the jury is still out on the guy. It could be argued that he has yet to play in an NFL caliber offense. I expect his career to re-boot at some point down the road.

I was not a fan of Rosen but has any QB been given less of a chance to succeed than him in the last 5 years? Dude is snakebit from starting roles but $2m+/ year to carry the a couple of ball bags after each practice ain’t bad.

Not sure what his problem is. He got traded so early but not even Kyler Murray could flourish on that team.
