Just saw a blib that Minnesota may be looking for a backup QB at the deadline. I wonder if McV is comfortable enough with Bennett to make Jimmy G available. I kind of doubt it - but you never know.

Nah doubtful; he loves Jimmy. I would be really surprised.

It would be funny if the Vikings bring back Cousins. About the same level of surprise though, but still :laugh4: .

Garappolo will be a free agent after this year. Bennett has looked capable in reserve action, and he's the third string QB as of now. We have two first-round picks, and it's a strong class for QBs, so we'll likely take a quarterback some time in this draft.

It really does depend on what Minnesota's offering, but if it's something substantial, we'd be foolish not to take advantage.

Why in the world would they be in the market? They just signed John Wolford didn't they? :laugh4:

All of that pertains to the future, but the biggest focus will be this season as it should be. Does trading Jimmy G help the teams SB aspirations this year?

I don't think it does. And it's not like we'll get much in draft comp.

I am not big on trading for a TE but certainly think Hockenson would easily be the best TE on our team. The Hockenson critcism is a bit exaggerated IMO.

Is there any credibility to that source? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of them.
No idea. I don't normally click on football rumors so my feed isn't great for that.

Nope, we just drafted one high. And he is good, nope, don't do it.
And we have a QB who does not lock onto TEs like some others.
It sure seems like Stafford is getting used to our young kid right now though. He is a obvious mismatch downfield.
Run what we brung.
Besides, we are deep at TE. Not usually a Ram thing, but I will take it.

I get the feeling we have a new player tomorrow. Let’s win today!
I hope it's a Kicker....that operation has cost us 2 games and it will cost us again if it isn't fixed...I swear I was watching some college kid on Game Day FG kicking contest on that first XP today....jeezus...

question for the hive mind

Was McVay showcasing his TEs today for trade bait?
Quite possible.

I don't think the Rams would sell one of their TEs unless they had one coming in. But if they are trying to get Andrews, then all of a sudden Allen plus a midround pick may be enough to put them into consideration given how he looked today.

I'd have a standing offer of our 4th round pick and their choice of Allen or Parkinson on the table for Andrews.

I still don’t get why we’d go after a TE. Andrews might be an upgrade but it would be at the expense of our other young TEs. Frankly, Andrews has been one of the few receiving weapons Baltimore has had during his tenure. Would he even get close to as many targets on our team? I highly doubt it.

Baltimore is also only 2 games out in their division with a very real potential to take it. Why would they get rid of ANY true weapons?

I don’t see us going after someone like TJ Hockenson either.

If they are going after someone, it will either be a true need (cough cough CB) or someone who truly tips the scales. Neither of these guys fill that bill.

I'm thinking ... Rashid Shaheed ... and I am never right about this stuff. It's really starting to piss-me-off!
