His interview on how he was sorry and didn't deserve to be in there, god i love you gurley, takes a real guy to admit that. What a team player.
This is the most understated point. When you have a coach that has zero loyalty to anything but success, then you have a coach that will have success. Almost everybody automatically assumed that Gurley was hurt. Turns out he was just hurting our chances. It takes serious balls to sit TG .
Really interesting reactions regarding Todd Gurley in this thread. Huge Gurley fan here but let me play devil’s advocate.
Are we actually praising a guy who basically “didn’t show up” in the biggest game of his career? I mean, it’s great that Todd stepped up and took accountability for his poor play but he is actually getting a free pass here.
What if we didn’t have CJ? What if we lost the game? Has this even happened in the history of the NFL when an MVP candidate was benched for pretty much the entire Championship game? I don’t know, I love watching him play but when I see him get interviewed he seems like an odd duck.
Again, hate ragging on one of my favorite players but I think he’s getting a free pass because we won. If we had lost this would have been a huge story.
