The Rams have gone "all in" this season. They spent most of their limited 2022 draft capital.

But can it be done? Yes, I think we can win it all. But some things need to change.

Our defense must improve a but. Von Miller should be a huge upgrade and should be a difference maker. We also must avoid any major season ending injuries.

The offense can't afford slow starts where we get down by double digits, especially in the playoffs.

McVay, although a great coach, must adjust sooner when we have games like tonight where the offense is not clicking due to disruption or pressure. Maybe moving the pockets should just be a routine part of what we do.

We need to pound the ball in the red zone at times.

If we can make these adjustments, we'll be there for a deep playoff run.

First things first - we need to ground ourselves, and stop crowning our ass!

Three big games this year and we've lost two of them. And BAD. AZ and tonight vs TEN weren't close games at all. Blown out. Yes we showed up vs TB but every other game this year has been relatively easy. The fact we're playing our worst games vs the best competition is concerning. In 2018 we balled out vs KC and barely won. We balled out vs NO when we were both 8-0 and we barely lost... but we played great in those games vs great competition. This year we are getting smashed by great competition. I dunno... this game tonight was very eye opening to me.

I think the rams are good this year but not good enough for the whole enchilada. I always thought the rams were not gong to be able to beat tough teams with stout defenses because we rely on the big play. Fun to watch but not sustainable every game. May be when Akers went down mcvay had to change his plan but the run game has always been an after thought in his offense after Gurley went down. Here come the 9ers, we should win this game but will we? Go rams

I haven't seen anything in this season so far that indicates we're anywhere near a super bowl. I remember everyone, including myself, excited that we would see McVays play book opened up bc we got Stafford. Our offense has been pretty vanilla so far. It's been the Cooper Kupp show all season, with Woods balling for one game. We need to spread the ball. We need to start using our rb's in the passing game. Through in some jet sweeps with Woods, more play action, utilize skrow...SOMETHING.

Oh yea, and run the fucking ball on 3rd and 1 when our run game has been working. Why we have to scream for mcvay to stop abandoning the run every season is ridiculous.

Lets back away from the cliff fellas, we're 7-2, we're still in a good spot, haven't even hit our bye yet.

There are of course things to clean up, but we should be okay to make a run. Especially if we can get guys like Akers back for the postseason.

I haven't seen anyone close to a cliff yet, I'd say we're slipping down a hill we thought we could climb.

The NFL is a week to week league. How many different teams will the pundits proclaim to be the best this season? More than one pundit claimed the Rams were the best team in the league. Next week they will claim its the Cardinals. Soon after another team. No one really knows at this point. We're starting to get an idea of the legit teams. But we still don't know who is the best team. That won't be determined till that February game in sofi.

The Titans lost to the Jets. They gave up 31 points to the Colts.

This game was an aberration all the way around.

Really? Tell me then, who is?
It's not about who is, it's about knowing how this team needs to play in order to get to the super bowl. We've all seen us get there in 2018. There was not a single game that went like this. Last night was 2019 and 2020 but worse. We've seen games go like this in the McVay era, and seen what happens when we get one dimensional. It's never led to a super bowl. But trust me, I'd love to be wrong this year.

fair enough, but I've seen this team play that way...our 2 losses have come arguably to the top 2 teams (currently) in the NFL...I know stats don't tell the entire story, but don't let anybody tell you that we got dominated Sunday...remember, NFL games are 60 minutes..
If we were losing to G-Men or the Texans, maybe I could see it....

I'm with you. I really thought that Snead and McVay saw this and we're banking on next year. Then they traded for Von Miller and I realized they really think they have a shot this year. I'm with you. Unless something significant changes, we're not going all the way.

The weird slow starts on offense. The lack of a power running game when we need it. The defensive talent bailing out the scheme won't last.

Hopefully next year Stafford and McVay are locked in enough to eliminate the slow starts. Hopefully next year the defensive coordinator has adjusted to the talent enough to maximize it.

Yeah, this team is not as good as 18' or at least the league is now caught up to McVay some and that makes it tougher. They kind of caught up in 18' by the end of the season I guess you could say.

Special teams are certainly worse this yr though.

I'm still hoping Von Miller will be a difference maker where our defense can carry the team if needed.

What's troublesome is that our two losses were heavily on Stafford. While I think overall he's better than Goff, he needs to be better.

To win the Lombardi, you need at least 3-4 games where you're in top of your game.

I agree, we dominated ourselves. But that seems to be the trend when we lose badly.

Stafford is an upgrade over Jared for sure, but ultimately McVay's faults that have, at times, put us in a bad spot remain. Stafford wont fix those, McVay isn't a perfect coach. The loss against the Titans was a bad game for both of them, but I think we could have pulled out of it with smarter coaching.

I really think he needs someone in the booth to be able to reign him in when it comes to playcalling. When the announcers are even wondering where the adjustments are because we're just doing the same thing over and over again, that's indicative of the coach and the scheme. McVay loves to get those chunk plays to break a defence, but sometimes it's better to just dink and dunk and be that team as well. We took some sacks and struggled against the Titans because we were looking for the big play to break the defence, but ended up playing right into their hands instead. It was obvious in the first drive that we weren't going to really be able to do that, they were only rushing 4 so they could drop guys into coverage, we never gave them any reason to change things up. Moving the pocket, going for shorter plays to bring their defence in and then maybe we can try the long explosive stuff. Spread the ball around, go for some draw plays, sticking with the run, use different personnel packages, all things that would have increased our chances far better than hoping that the players just execute better.

That's ultimately what sank us in the Super Bowl, and it's what sank us against the Titans. If we could get someone in a booth that McVay trusts to go "Hey Sean, we're playing right into their hand right now, lets switch it up a bit." I think that would be incredibly useful.

This is true…AND…Stafford had twelve years of hero ball. It’s gonna take a minute to unlearn the bad habits and trust the system
