Gruden has lost this team. Total epic failure
I think it's a tank job. From the gameplan on down the goal is to draft very high with their pick, where they will have options of some high end rush prospects on the edge and the interior. I tend to favor the kid from Houston, but the edge need is real for the Raiders too.
I guarantee the owner and Gruden agreed, right out the gate, that the goal is to do what they need to do to pick high and reload as much of that roster as possible in the first couple drafts. That Raider roster was the oldest in the league, and in need of overhaul.
Pretty sure the Raiders will be heavy hitters in FA this offseason (they have like $70+M cap avail) on top of a lot of picks this next draft and the following one. So slamming the door on Gruden right now because he's lost the team is probably going to be a bit short sighted. Truth is Shanny and his merry band of dipshits are a roster in much better shape but probably not good enough to win this division next year, so not sure why they were acting like they'd just advanced in the playoffs and maybe in the long term view these two teams might have 2019 and 2020 futures that surprise a lot of fans.
