Branch would be a huge blow if injury is serious for Detroit. Mostly non-contact, ankle just kind of buckles.
Seems to be ok. Branch is already a tremendously impactful player. Great tackler, great in coverage, tremendous smarts and play recognition. Probably the biggest steal of the draft. A bunch of Pro Bowls coming in his future.

Reynolds has developed since he's been in Detroit. IMO its a matter of motivation. He could see he was buried here in LA. Going to Detroit was the best thing for Reynolds and Goff. Neither had a future in LA on a McVay team. Goff is now a top 5 QB and Reynolds is a quality #2 WR. Good for both of them.

Stafford is a personality fit for McVay, who wants a gunslinger mentality at QB. LA got their Lombardi and Goff got his respect and a bright future. Reynolds got his opportunity to grow. It's why some players come here and blossom and others not so much. It will be interesting if the Rams play the Lions in the playoffs.

Reynolds is better than Van. Goff trusts him and he consistently makes big plays in games for Detroit.k
Reynolds started over Van Jefferson his rookie season.

Van was PISSED!! He hasn’t developed & has missed a lot of catchable balls.

Jesus, has Green Bay bought a medical cart to drive players off field since 1990?
I think Greenbay also plays something like "I Don't Wanna Work I Wanna Bang On The Drum All Day" after touchdowns. That came out in 1982.

Lions are fun to watch. Like to see Goff do well. Will always root for him apart from when he plays the Rams. :sunglasses::thumbsup1:

It's funny people comparing a 7 year pro who's been with the same QB for 6 of those years, all but like 5 games really, to a guy in his 4th year missed time in one of them. I'm wanting more from Van just like everybody else, mainly consistency for me, but there are some comparisons that just make absolute zero sense. Especially since we cut Josh.

It took Puka 1 game to have chemistry with Stafford. Are you saying Van hasn't had enough time to develop chemistry with Stafford to get a fair evaluation of his play?

I don't think we cut Josh - we just didn't resign him

Same here, I loved the trade for Stafford but I want nothing but the best for Goff. They showed stats last night of Goff' s QBR rating home and away and they were night and day. He’s starting to become more consistent on the road in a hostile environment but still looks a lot more comfortable playing indoors.

I agree on some it,but Jared Goff did succeed as a LA Rams.

Goff succeeded here in LA but that was inspite of McVay not because of him. He retarded Goff's development as a QB and Jared told him so after the trade. Goff goes to the Super Bowl they lose because McVay was out coached. But Goff gets the blame. The next year McVay scraps the good OL in front of Goff and gives him a trash OL to play behind. Then McVay would not allow Goff to read defenses or change plays by holding him in the huddle until the last 15 seconds and then blamed Goff for the failures of the plays. He succeeded here despite McVay not because of him.

Reynolds got released which was the best thing for him. He needed motivation and a compatible system. McVay's system is very challenging for a WR and not all can thrive in it. McVay's system gives the WR multiple options depending upon how it's defended. The WR and QB must read it the same way. It's why Atwell took so long to blossom. Jefferson is going to be another Reynolds. He's had success here but when he leaves he will blossom if he plays in a more conventional system and has a decent QB. People trashed Reynolds here and rightly so. But last night we saw why he was originally signed. People point to Jefferson's drops but ignore Stafford's flat out missing him at times. So I guess Stafford is trash by that metic? During the Super Bowl Jefferson was wide open in the end zone for what would have been the winning TD but Stafford flatout missed him on the throw. It happens for both WR and QB.

We saw the importance of scheme fit for both QB and WR on display last night. It wouldn't surprise me if Akers had more success elsewhere as well. As we have seen Williams' lack of hands as a receiver has cost the Rams dearly in two games. Time to sit him and play Evans and Freeman IMO. That isn't to condemn Williams as "trash" but to recognize he does have his limitations in this scheme.
