Overall credit to Detroit, good for them and good for the Lion fans. That Offensive Line is the best in the NFL and I hope Les Snead was watching.

Umm..Chefs are defending Super Bowls champs...If that's losing, then sign me up!
Superbowl hangover? :laugh3:

They don't look so prolific with Kelce on the sidelines. And he'll rush back, for sure. If he does, that may doom them. If he doesn't, same.

It's only a bone bruise so Kelce now gets extra days to heal and that will serve him well plus now they will sign Chris Jones.

They play the Jaguars next and they will put up many points IMO, but credit to the Lions for taking advantage and winning the game.

Goff was a complete class act when asked for comment after the Rams' last SB win.

If the Rams were to be eliminated this year, I'd be all-in for Goff and the Lions to win it all.
Rams always come first, don't think this is gonna be our year so I'm rooting for Goff to do well. Husband and I went out to the bar last night to watch this game, it was fun. Not as spectacular as their last Thursday night match up but I was also happy to see Goff beat Mahomes again

How much money would it cost to get this man back in Southern California?

so apparently mahommes doesn't make a single mistake. everything bad that happened was someone else's fault. wrs were at fault for everything, including balls that were too high or too short.

and kelce wasn't on the field so it wasn't fair for poor patrick. apparently the best qb maybe ever needs everything perfect around him to function. poor, poor patrick.

i remember when goff was throwing to practice squad level players for half a season in his first season with the lions. everyone in the media said he was shit. once they signed reynolds suddenly goff started playing much better. josh reynolds made the difference.

poor patrick. if the best te in history isn't on the field with him he can't make plays.

This game showed that Goff is getting recognition as being a good qb. He was actually part of the adverts before the game for a change. Never happened when he was with the Rams.

Moving away from McVay's shadow has done him the world of good. He's the guy.
I never really got all the hate for Chris Collinsworth until last night. His regurgitation of all the typical narratives about Goff were annoying. "I'm surprised how confident Goff seems!" etc.:sick2:

TBH, I felt like last night was a game of 2 head coaches keeping their team from winning. Unfortunately for KC, Reid was better at it.
Just like many games Detroit lost over the past 2 seasons, they got soooo conservative when they had a chance to put the game away. 4th and 25 with 3 time outs? Cmon Andy, you gotta trust your D there. I guess he was planning on the refs bailing him out again like they did in the SB...

These are only a few of the drops from last night.

There were many others by the rest of that wide dropper corp in KC...

The pic 6 was clearly on #19. The other two? I'd say were on Mahomes. You have a wide open receiver and you hit him low on his hip. Then you have an open receiver and you throw it so far behind him that he has to try to stop and turn around to catch it. I honestly think Mahomes is so keyed in on his stature that he just gets lazy on some of his passes and kinda short arms them.

I have grown unable to listen to Collinsworth in recent years. Feel like I have heard him say the same things ... and, EVEN WORSE ... in exactly the same way so many times.

I always have his games on a few minute delay, with a remote in my hand, so I can fast-forward through some of his analysis when it doesn't take-away from viewing game-action.

I also find his dopey son kind of annoying and unnecessary.

I honestly think Mahomes is so keyed in on his stature that he just gets lazy on some of his passes and kinda short arms them.

My coaches and my son's coaches pretty much had the same exact message about this and it is permanently etched into my brain...

"If the ball hits your hands... you HAVE to catch it. Dropping a football that hits your hands is 100% your fault."

There are proper techniques for your hands when catching that are very important, but the most important part of catching a football is your eyes. All catches have different degrees of difficulty... but it all comes down to watching the ball throughout the entire catching process.

A great way to SEE this as a real truth is to read about how Larry Fitzgerald learned to catch the ball so well. As I remember it, his dad was/is an eye doctor and he made Larry learn to use his eyes in a scientific way to insure he didn't drop any footballs. Larry swears by it to this day and he is literally living proof of it working.

Hand techniques are important too... but you have to use those with great coordination with your eyes.

So my boys and I have always screamed at each other with complete belief - "If the ball hits your hands... it's on you if you don't catch it."

QBs don't have perfect lanes to throw every pass. Some can adjust their throwing motions in almost unbelievable ways to throw the ball and hit your hands. If he manages to do that, it's your fault if you drop the ball. That's the rule WRs are taught and the good/great ones live by it and believe it. Nobody catches every pass... but it's rare to see the great ones drop a ball that hits their hands... hell, these days some of the best won't drop a ball that hits just one of their hands.

Those balls that that clown dropped last night were all 100% his fault. That's exactly how I SEE it.

Truth is... that's why many of the fastest and most athletic guys are forced to play defense. Their hand eye coordination sucks... and they can't catch for shit. They can defend though. Just remember that the next time you see a DB or Safety drop a sure interception when the ball hits him in his hands. If you listen carefully when you watch one of those plays happen... you'll hear me screaming way off in the distance - "That's why he plays defense!".

Anticipated blog title: “How the Chiefs went from Super Bowl champions to the worst record in football” (technically true today).
