Yeah that's kind of how I landed on Mayer actually. I don't think you're getting a tight end in this draft that offers Mayer's upside in the fourth. But of course that would just be my opinion. Les and Mcvay could think much differently.
Wasn’t their rumors of Mayer having personal issues? If it’s another Stetson Bennett deal I’d pass.

I mean look at last seasons draft.Could you have imagined Bowers to The Rams without Verse & FISKE ? The offense would have been seriously explosive.

SO what’s it going to look like now “2025? One could guess.I’ll say I wouldn’t count on Higbee.Allen Davis went into that slump (soon.)
Parkisian seemed to be a Bust

-That said look at Mcvays first season with Sned & as a HC.Kittle would have been there after Kupp.
The Rams traded back for Everett & drafted JJ43 with the pick.

I can see a trade back, but sure if they like The 4 or 5 years for there
contract lengths ??
I ain't reading all that

I'm happy for you tho

Or sorry that it happened

I think Mayer is heads and shoulders above any TE prospect who may be available in the 4th. Ferguson and Helm come to mind in the 4th and I would rather Mayer if possible.
Well I really like Ferguson and he comes with team control. But I wouldn't be averse to Mayer. I just don't quite have that feel of who will really go where since I don't do a full board. By round 4 it's who the hell knows.

Why not just trade a 4 for Michael Mayer? If he were in this draft class he would be TE1 or 2. 3 at worst. He's only not getting usage because Bowers is one of the greatest tight end prospects of the generation.
He would not be TE 1 or 2 IMO. He might be TE 3, even then, it wouldn't be all that clear. I still see Warren far ahead of him and Loveland a fair amount above him.

I think you're way off on this one.

First off a 4.5 is not a poor testing for a safety. Secondly Starks has tons of film of him covering ground at an elite level in games. He's got good size. He can line up in any role for a DC. Dude adds major flexibility.

I don't really like safeties up high. They don't seem to really hit, but when they do they can be incredible in their impact for a defense. I think Starks is that type of player potentially.
I'm not saying his isn't a good prospect, I'm saying there is no way I'd take him in the 1st. I'm not a fan of taking a safety high either, but taking one that isn't ascending is risky for a 1st rounder. If I was taking a safety in the 1st this year, I'd lean Emmanwori who is ascending and a historic athlete with absurd size. Also, IMO safety isn't a huge need for us ATM. I'd much rather invest in a top CB. Starks in the 2nd? Sure

SO ? your sorry The Rams drafted FISKE & Verse last season ? I’d say getting Higbee back almost helped The Rams go to or win a Superbowl.

The Defense & Verse took over the game in the End.
