That literally makes no sense? As for Fisher, I think it would have taken Aaron Rogers to save his job, the offense was that bad

I am not raining negativity here. Byron Murphy looks like a stud and there were other players taken - e.g. Risen - who might well go on to have better careers than our picks at CB and OL. To say that is not blasphemy. After all the were not simply throwing darts hoping to hit one. Henderson might be a star, same with Rapp, but if not and Murphy or another player rated 30 spots higher is, they made a mistake

Aaron Rodgers wouldn't have saved his job. Throwing passes in that antiquated offense was career suicide. Thing is it's not always the failed player's fault for his failure. Look back over Fisher's 5 year draft record with the Rams. They drafted 25 offensive players and how many turned out successful? Gurley, Havenstein, JBrown, Goff and Higbee? 20% and two of those 5 were "no brainers"!! That's a huge lack of development on the offensive side of the ball. I'd go so far as to say, had Fisher not been fired Havenstein, Brown, Higbee and possibly Goff might not be in that 20%.

You're not raining negativity. You're raining doubt. "If this does that, they made a mistake"? There were some 250+ players drafted over the last week. Many are going to be successful. Some would be successful no matter who drafted them. Many need the development and teaching skills good staffs will provide. I feel pretty good about any player this staff drafts because they have Wade, Kromer and McVay providing that teaching and development. And when somebody we didn't draft turns into a stud, it doesn't mean it was mistake not drafting them in L.A.

I really liked your post and agree on many fronts. You are right, having seen how the draft played out I do have doubts. I saw great value in trading down. Rapp, Henderson and Long all look solid (but there is a reason they lasted a round longer than other prospects)

The two later picks at OL need to work out - otherwise we are thread bare. If Long doesn’t develop into a starter, we might suffer next year. So these were big decisions

We will see and hope, as you say, that our coaches can get more out of them than they produced at the college level

This type of logic is basically useless in grading a draft the day after it happened. The sheer amount of variables and unknowns involved in 32 teams drafting over 200 players who've never played a single down in the NFL says so.
Thank you

If you're talking about Gaines, I'm not sure he ever was a Fullback. He was used as a running back in certain situations as a Senior, but he was foremost a D-lineman. His Senior highlight tape is about 7 minutes long and there is only about 7 plays with him touching the ball on offense.

According to Pat Kirwan on the NFL radio coverage he played RB and some TE. Pat also went on about how he beat a lot of blockers during Senior Bowl week practice. Miller went on about his benchmark number from his workouts being 70 which is explosive for a big guy.

If you want to argue that he should have X number of snaps as either, well that's too much in the grass for me and not worth arguing over. Point is that old saying (who I attribute to Kirwan some years back) that he was told in the 3-4 the ideal nose is a beefed up short athlete with some strength/anchor to him is a saying that fits our new NT. Which is kinda cool.

OK, I was clarifying what he did in high school. Maybe you're talking about what they may have tried at Univ of Washington. I don't know if he played offense there. I got a chance to see him play a couple of times as a senior in high school. He went to my alma mater, which is about 25 miles east of LA.
