Of course it makes sense. Anything moves that would have improved the Rams before Jeff Fisher we’re fired - would - using hindsight - be the wrong moves. We had to stink for him to be let go - remember they had already agreed on a contract extension! Thank goodness we sucked so bad when Goff was a rookie. And it had to be that year that he was fired otherwise McVay would be coaching the 49ers right now.

I hope you now intend to send our ‘saviour’ a Christmas card every year - for being such a terrible LT - lol

That's not how FA works. Teams don't just go and get anyone they want and hope and pray that they get lucky that the guy they want is miraculously available right when they need them.

Teams prepare for FA years in advance and when it comes time to present your pitch you're competing against many other teams for that players services. The Rams did their homework and landed Whitworth.

Seemingly by your (draft) logic if the Rams had lost out on Whitworth it would be bad FA....but because they got him it was luck.

Thanks Mojo for that insightful post. It has little to do with what I said. If Whit wasn’t available or chose to play somewhere else, we would have been f@cked thanks to our draft choice. Disagree?

Great argument. Only if they took Murphy (or another prospect at the top) they could still have taken Gaines without trading. Read the post before you throw it under a bus through flakey arguments
Did you ever consider the Rams didn’t want Murphy? It sounds like Rapp was their man all along. So now your argument is pretty flaky when it’s based solely upon them not choosing the man you wanted them to choose. So I guess now I might be throwing it under the Titanic.

Teams don't have a very good idea who will come to them via FA before they draft? (I'll give you a hint, they do).

That's the Crux of your argument.

I have never said they did ANGRY? Time will tell

For the record, I started a post ‘Trades Trades Trades’. Check the time I posted, it was hours before day two started, so you can’t say I didn’t see it coming!

No, but you are implying it by playing the "they coulda, woulda, shoulda" game.

They did what they did. Not the end of the world bruh.

Wtf is going’s on here?

No one knows anything about the draft and who “won” the draft.

All this snarky bickering is making me want to check out until mini camp.

Get it together, y’all.

I don’t recognise that opinion. Can you find the post where ‘I’ said that. Stay angry fella...

This is not to negate what Snead and McVa

y did, but after pulling off more trades than I can ever remember in Rams history, Snead could have stayed put and picked practically all the same players bar Henderson and Rapp

Byron Murphy anyone?

Staying put could have brought in (for example)

Murphy, OT Bobby Evans, FS Chauncey Gardens-J, DT Greg Gaines, OT David Edwards, LB Dakota Allen (Scott would prob have been a priority FA)

They clearly wanted Henderson (in a big way) and were very comfortable taking Rapp who looks like a solid pick one pick back from Nasir Adderley (who has star potential)

I was surprised by the Gaines trade - thought they were trading up for Mack Wilson! Wanted Edge D’Andre Walker who went 1 pick ahead of our T David Edwards pick. Might we have shipped the 7th to get above them? Just my two cents

LB remains a shining weakness going into 2019 with the DL significantly weakened...

Interesting look at what could have been. Didn't look at Murphy before the draft and just read he could be more for a zone defense. You have to think being from Washington the Rams looked at his game tape yet went with his teammate Rapp and Henderson. Had the Rams had a second round pick all the trade downs wouldn't have been needed. We just don't know their exact thinking but, I think they got who they wanted. Time will tell if they were the best picks for the Rams.

I’ll say this:

You’d be hard pressed to find yourself “giddy” over Rapp and Henderson. These two guys look to be contributors day one. Watching highlights, and yes I know they are “highlights”; you can tell these guys have solid instincts. It’s gonna be fun to watch these guys develop.

What about outrage on social media and people complaining about their team's draft?

.

Or people getting angry, because someone points out that for all the trading we ended up picking in many of the same spots. I predicted that Snead would trade back to accumulate possible future starters... with a solid rationale for why - hours before the 2nd round started...

As others have pointed out, including me, they liked the value later over Murphy or one of the other 1st round prospects that were available at 31. Time will tell if we were right. I look forward to seeing these guys play and hope they make an impact

and here we get a guy who was precisely that in a former FB who converted.

If you're talking about Gaines, I'm not sure he ever was a Fullback. He was used as a running back in certain situations as a Senior, but he was foremost a D-lineman. His Senior highlight tape is about 7 minutes long and there is only about 7 plays with him touching the ball on offense.

I wasn't having a go at you. I was just mentioning another couple of guarantees in life.

Cheers fella. Me neither. I have enjoyed getting into it with people.

Dalton Risner is another player to keep an eye on, in relation to our two OL picks. He was picked at 41 by the Broncos and could become a huge piece for them. He compares favorably with Whitworth. We dropped out of range when we traded down to pick 45

Rapp will play a lot as the 3rd safety on down and distance. So it appears Kiser has been penciled in to start on 1st and 2nd downs. On paper, our front seven looks more traditional, with a genuine NT & Mike LB. We might find teams attacking our base through the air, but hopefully we will be stouter vs the run
