I can see how the Rams and their fans would and should extra motivated, and I also see Wade Phillips wanting to atone.
Keep in mind that it does indeed go both ways. The Cowboys have been fighting and clawing for wins since they were 3 wins and 5 loses. I can tell you that they have been fighting for their lives most of the season to be in the position they're in and I can guarantee you that this has helped them 10 fold.

Both teams and staffs have many reasons to give an out of this world effort so lets all admit effort won't be the issue. I can tell you this from a Cowboys perspective, Dak is very tired of hearing how he is not a very good QB so his effort and mindset right now is locked in. I can tell you this, I was around in 80's and 90's and watching the Cowboys intensely and this team right now has a very similar feel to the one in the 90's right now. Incredible teams speed, great running back, a very solid #1 receiver and a championship quality defense and a QB who has done as good as Aikman did in his first couple of years.. This team hasn't gotten to the NFC championship game since the 90's so the fire right now with this team is off the chain.

Having said this, the Rams are at home, and have some favorable matchups and scenarios as well. The best team will win and I'm sure it will be fun to watch. I think both teams are looking at bulletin board material right now in terms of what the media is saying. There have been so very pro Ram support as well that have basically dogged the Cowboys. I think the main reason that the rams may be getting some flack is because of how well our defense is playing and how the rams offense hasn't quite been the same since Kupp going down. Yes they scored points, but we all know the struggles.

It's an old narrative, build someone up beyond all reality and then tear them down when they don't meet your overblown expectations.

The "NFL experts" had a good laugh during the Linehan, Spagnuolo, and Fisher years. They didn't see McVay coming and were caught with their pants down. That ticked them off because it made them look foolish, like they didn't know what they were talking about. So they attached the "genius" label to him. When he and the team falter in any way they pounce. It's not rocket surgery. :sneaky:

As far as the Good Morning Football crowd goes, Kay Adams runs the show and it tilts in whatever direction she wants it to go. Rams fan know well that she's not a fan of the team for whatever reason. What my ex-wife told me before she left is about how I feel about Kay Adams and the rest of the "NFL experts..."

Thanks for writing bro, going to be a great game.

Do you have any thoughts on this game being played outdoors on grass vs. inside on turf? Is that a factor or not? Thanks.

I just listened to a rant about how McVays so call tree is comical in comparison to other coaches. Well yeah first off he’s in his second year as a coach you can’t compare that to Andy Reid and others. But funniest is this media guy dumping on McVay for what other media members are saying. Rams just keep getting dumped on, I so very badly want them to win a shut a few people up.
Coaching tree?? What coaching tree? What a ridiculous statement.

I remember that. You're talking about Aikman and the 1-15 & 7-9 Cowgirls, right?

I just can't get that worked up over a football game or the talking heads, good or bad. The outcome has Zero long term bearing on my life. Ergo...other than a bit of a tick up or down in my emotions for a few hours following the game...I am a fan of the team after all...it is what it is.

If it affected my family, career, bank account, roof over my head, etc...then that would be different.

Noticed this too. All of a sudden nothing matters if he loses this game, it means he can't win the big game.

I sense resentment from a lot of media this week and I don't get it.
Tell Kansas City and Minnesota that....:sneaky:

Yeah.. not Playoff games, but prime time big as fuck games for sure!

This is where it becomes personal because I/we love the Rams and to label goff or McVay this way it's just like @LoyalRam said. it's sad in that these days or any days people that excel are built up only to be torn down for the sake of proving oneself right or further their career etc. I myself have criticized McVay or goff at different points this season but as a fan as someone who bleeds Rams. These people a labeling and trying to tarnish people's careers to further there own agenda. But this is where this game will mean so much cause I don't just want a win for the fact that I'm simply a fan of this team I want the win even more for the Mcvay and Goff as people too. McVay was getting accalades because he deserved it he accomplished something monumental something people haven't done for this organization in years so they get too the playoffs lose one game and now all these labels and insults are being hurled but yet the rest of the league is all trying to duplicate Mcvays hiring and it seems the media and all the other pundits are jealous. This is football it's not the best of 7 or best of 5 where he gets multiple chances to inspire and coach, it was his first rodeo, their first, he/they got their team to the playoffs no mans land for both Goff and McVay with goff who was labeled a bust and we lost. Were we happy? no we were all angry annoyed etc. but as fans we didn't set out to destroy our coach or embarrass him we were just disappointed because as fans we always want more. They built them up only to tear them down wait for people to fail its a damn shame simply horrible .....even though it seems the same not only will I be rooting for my team on Saturday as per usual (probably breaking a few things if it gets dicey) but I will also be rooting for Goff and McVay as people and human beings with a greater passion to prove these mothereffas wrong to shut people up. I know then the next narrative will be well he didn't get to the Super Bowl but we will deal with that later. One step at a time lol. Seems everyone is picking the cowgirls so maybe it's time for the Rams and their fans to get there own dog masks. I hate these losers!!!!

I'm sure you've seen it this week. Even though the Rams are 7 point favorite over the Dallas Cowboys in Vegas, they are decidedly underdogs among the sports chattering class. I can count on one hand, and have extra fingers afterwards, of "experts" who have picked the Rams to win.

I'll go out on a limb and say Las Vegas is a little more trustworthy.

:yay:

Well, the object is to score points.

So yeah, you never said that you wouldn't enjoy it, but like i also said you're still concerned with what they say even before we get there. Again that's you, but why worry?
Because a lot of the fun after the Super Bowl is enjoying the adulation of the team. It's not just the game. But no matter, I will enjoy the win no matter what. This includes newspaper articles, along with video. If it's only about the game's 60 minutes, you are selling the experience short...But, you do you.

I actually had to stop watching GMFB because of this. We are gonna win, the cowgirls should be scared! Why this isn't the narrative is beyond me. Did they forget that the team they wrote off last year won it all?
They've been saying they expect us to play well.

What a stupid comment :wtf:

Can't say that I ever sold my tickets to opposing fans. In fact, after I left St. Louis in 2006 I gave my season tickets (which I had since 1995) to my parents for them to use until the Rams moved here in 2016. When I was in town visiting, I suffered through the decade of miserable years in person. Can you say the same?

Regardless...At the end of the day how a talking head feels about the team I cheer for has Zero bearing on my life. I cheer for the team, I enjoy watching the games, but I don't get bent over what someone else may think about the them.

No offense to the original poster, but I wish we would push the breaks on hot takes coming from GMFB. It has to be the worst media publication covering the NFL I have ever watched. I know I have said it before, but when the "Which QB prospect you would go to Coachella with" it lost all credibility. I have gone back a couple of times since then. Still bites ass. Listen to the radio.
