He had a badly injured wrist and he's not the quickest learner, so he needs the reps.
He was incredibly game to keep playing with that wrist and much like Legatron's back, it just couldn't hold up and he started losing punts.
Have you ever caught a punt kicked over 40 yards? Hits the hands like a cannonball. I can't imagine how hard it would be to secure a punt with a broken/damaged wrist.
As for routes, I don't fault anyone for not being developed on offense under Fisher.
And he wasn't able to get into the offense or get the coaching he needed because he couldn't get the reps.
He may still prove to be valuable. We'll see.
