We have a number of key people with perfectionist/near perfectionist attitudes that will combine to steer the U.S.S. Horns in harmony moving forward.
First off, I believe our magical Leprechaun was personally & privately embarrassed by allowing Belichick to notice such an obvious pattern in his play calling. He is probably blaming himself for not having his most talented TE, Gerald Everett, ready as a true blocking asset. Gerald is in for some serious training on run/pass blocking game so NO ONE can ever see such a relatively play calling pattern ever again!
Next, we have our Golden Armed Boy Wonder, Jared Goff, who was openly ashamed at his inconsistent play, especially when our D played well enough to win. The D did not even surrender a TD until the long times of possession inevitably wore them down. Jared surely has a much better idea of just what was ailing his super feature back than we did and certainly knew the game rested on his young shoulders more so than anyone else. I really DO believe we will see our Boy Wonder mature to Wonder Man status this season as the inconsistent play gives way to much more positive performances.
All of us remember Todd's woeful 2016 season which he likened to running "a middle school offense." All of us saw how he rebounded in 2017, climaxed by that epic changing of the guard game against the 'Hawks. This is a super proud young man who undoubtedly blames his health and subsequent performance issues for the Super Bowl debacle. Expect the Gurley Man to be exhausting all reasonable avenues to rebuild and improve his body & game.
The SonOfBum had to be rattled by his defense's inability to contain Julian Edelmann and to effectively pass rush the Man called Brady. We have already seen some of the FA & draft moves made to shore up both the pass/rush defense. Wade still has a winning record against BB, but it must have really burned him to lose on the biggest stage of all. Expect to see a full commitment to defensive excellence this season.
