I'm thinking Shanahan is glad Purdy is a no go. Mac Jones is starting to look like a better fit in that offense. They're scoring a few more points per game with Jones. And less turnovers.

Its gonna be interesting if the 49er offense doesn't look as good when Purdy returns. They're committed to him now. If he starts to look like a middle of pack quarterback I can see some buyer's remorse in the SF media and with the fans. So far with last year and this year he does not look like an upper tier guy.

Remember when rg3, both dad and son shanny were all one big happy family with the redskins? RG3 hurt his knee but the shannahans rushed him back for the playoffs. He not only re-injured it, he was never the same and ended up with a very short career.

So…didn’t purdy already come back and play on that toe? He’s been out longer this time around.
Just saying.

You gotta just laugh at the 49’ers… Shanahan wanted Jones, but they traded a ton of 1st round picks for Lance.

Now they have Jones on a one year deal… but just paid Purdy a fortune.

All they had to do was stand pat and Jones woulda been there for them. Saving those future firsts. They thought they had their future guy in Purdy. Gave him a big contract. Turns out he ain't so good without a stacked roster. :laugh4:

They might have had the talent to win a SB.

But, they failed.

Will Anderson terrorized Jones all day long. That dude is a walking MASH unit now. Great game. Think I’ll head over to the Niner board to listen to some crying. :laugh2:

I love the sound of Whiner tears in the morning, just as much as Lieutenant Colonel William "Bill" Kilgore loves the smell of napalm at the same hour.

Oh yeah. The Superbowl window is closed for sure. The playoff window may or may not be open. Only because of that weak ass schedule they get for being a last place team. If they do make the playoffs they won't last long. Rams, Eagles, Lions, Packers, Bucs are all better than the 49ers. Seattle and Washington might be better too. If they make the playoffs they won't have a last place schedule next year. And likely will have a losing season. Again. With the huge contracts and cap dollars coming due I don't see them being a contender for a number of years.
