Both parties lost it, but ayuck got paid.

The 9ers overpaid by a ton. At the time, ayuck was nowhere near a top 10, not even top 15 WR. Too many good prospects come out every year. The WR market was betraying basic economics and the 9ers bit.

After a lengthy holdout, with some vitriol included, ayuck ended up re-signing with a team to whom he was not loyal. He was just chasing $$.

Now the 9ers are stuck with a big contract and a me-first player while ayuck rides his salary as vindication of his perceived talent level.

He will be out of football before the contract ends.

I love that Aiyuk got his clock cleaned against the Rams on their desperation play just as the game ended in the Rams first win against the whiners last season. :)

That was a serious injury. Both the ACL and MCL. Its possible he may never be the same. Heck, he was not the same before the injury after missing almost all of camp. Combine that with the lack of motivation he seems to have, I don't see him being a factor when he returns.

Watched Colin Cowherd with Nick Wright. They both are not high on Purdy. Saying the same thing I've been saying. He was great in that QB friendly system surrounded with all pro talent. Take some of that away and we saw the results. Wright thinks the #14 ranking will be lower after this season after his limitation are exposed with marginal talent around him. But, like Aiyuk he got paid. So its all good.

Agreed. Imagine if the whiners had stolen Stafford from us? They would probably have won at least one super bowl if not more with the talent they had at the time.

Stafford showed real greatness, IMO in the game winning drive in super bowl 56. I believe if OBJ hadn't gone down, the Rams blow out the bengals. But it turns out that drive showcased how good Stafford can be,

Yup. That is why McVay wanted him instead of Goff. He did not have confidence Goff would come up big in those moments. And I thank the football gods every day for McVay being in Cabo at the right time. If he went to the hated ones they coulda been the only team with a threepeat.

Two things about purdy.
1) he’s a smart, a great pre-snap reader, busts his ass, and maintains a calm demeanor. There’s a reason why a 7th round pick just got paid.
2) he’s got a 7th round arm. The Rams are counting on jimmyg-string to back up Stafford? G-string struggles on the the 12-15 yard out. Most of his picks are on that throw. Go back and review his INTS, I dare you. THAT IS A BREAD AND BUTTER THROW. Your team won’t go anywhere if your QB can’t make that throw.
I saw krapernick in person at candlestick—twice! He couldn’t make that throw in a tight window to save his life. purdy struggles with routine, big arm, throws.

Bottom line? purdy won’t take the 9ers anywhere they aren’t set up to take HIM. As with his choke artist HC, pressure/$$ on line games, the 9er QB and HC is a match made in heaven…
For Rams fans.

Purdy is only as good as his surrounding cast. They were stacked and he was very good. When they weren't stacked he wasn't very good. They are not stacked this year. And they paid him like a guy who is supposed to lift everyone around him. Gonna be some disappointment in whiner land when they realize he can't.

Well Ratboy has The QB he should’ve drafted from the beginning when trading up.

Now he has 4 (5) seasons of experience.

The Rams defense did well against Lance. He still looks like a nice backup still. The JETS maybe in trouble.

I was looking through some roster transactions.

Since the start of training camps the third-week in July, the 49ers have made 27 roster moves ... 27!

By comparison, the Rams have made ... ZERO ... as in ... 0!

Teams typically release and sign players through-out Training Camp and the Pre-season while they try to figure-out the back-end of their roster and eventual Practice Squad.

Zero moves through the first two-plus weeks may indicate stability and roster talent/depth ... that's the Rams.

27 moves prior to the first pre-season game ... that's a lot ... may indicate a lack of roster depth ... the 49ers?

Up-dated Numbers ...

The 49ers have made 48 roster moves since the start of Camp (third week of July) ... 48

The Rams have made 4; and that includes the recent signings of OL McAllister and Leglue ... 4

In the coming days, every team will make more than three dozen roster moves to get-down to a final 53; and that will be followed by another 500+ NFL roster moves to build practice squads and tweak the 53. However, 48 moves in the past four weeks is a fucking TON of moves.

I'm not so sure we should even play the season out. I mean, the 49ers have the 3rd best NFC odds for the Super Bowl according to Vegas and I heard the ballboys there are snagging passes left and right there in practice. Might as well sit Stafford until the bye to heal up. Of course the Vikings are supposed to go from a 14 win team to 8 wins due to losing All-World QB Sam Darnold to the Shitchickens. Vegas usually gets more shit right than wrong, bit this season sure looks like an outlier.
