69er culture driving some people insane. I still cant believe that Devondre Campbell shit. Linebacker for the 69ers in 2024 who refused to play and quit in the middle of a game.
Toxic, entitled, bratty culture. I’ll never forget their tantrums when the Eagles drubbed them in the ‘23 championship game. I’m really surprised they even win as much as they do.

As much as I enjoy and 49er drama, this saga is making both sides look bad. If I'm Washington I have no desire to want a guy like that on my team. Maybe he's not on Antonio Brown's level. But if he does this to one team, he might end up doing it to another. He doesn't seem to know how to make good decisions. This is the wrong way to go about it. If I was a GM or coach for Washington I would want no part of him.

Yeah, I concur and they seem to get dirty too when things are not going their way. That is fine, I don't like them, I will never like them, but I sure do wish they would lose more than they do.

The sad part is, that I have several friends that are 49er fans and they are fantastic people. Hard to understand, but when I interact with those individuals, professional football is that last topic that is broached. In fact, we were at a friend's house the other day with my grandchildren and my granddaughter was in their changing room and noticed a 49er jersey and yelled "Papa, you won't believe what is in here?" It was a Jerry Rice jersey, egad!

Ayuck trashes the GM and refers to the HC as a toddler—publicly You gotta love it.

Absolutely no way in hell he can go back to that team. They in turn just let him rot, out of football, until they get a decent deal.

Both sides are losing this battle.
Just another diva WR............I'm enjoying the SF drama.

IMO, it would be in SF's best interest to simply release him just to stop that BS. I don't understand why he's not a UFA if SF has already voided his guaranteed money for 2026.

Don't know if this has been posted from OTC.....

The 49ers and Brandon Aiyuk agreed on an extension in late August of 2024 that both sides seemingly regretted the minute it was signed. Less than 15 months later it looks as if the two sides are headed for a split as Aiyuk has seemingly not been available to the team and in turn the 49ers voided $27 million in guaranteed salary for 2026.

NFL contracts always contain conditions for guaranteed salary to remain guaranteed. Based on the reporting surrounding the reason for voiding the guarantee it would seem as if the 49ers flagged Aiyuk failing to practice/play with the 49ers and that his injury did not preclude him from attending whatever activities the 49ers said were being missed. Aiyuk has reportedly told the NFLPA to not fight this and its an odd decision for the NFLPA to not try to get more clarity on the teams unilateral rights to void guarantees but perhaps this is an open and shut case.

Aiyuk currently counts for $15.39 million on the 2026 salary cap. If the 49ers release him outright they will take on a salary cap charge of $29.585 million. If the team opts to make him a post June 1 designation the cap charges will be $13.325 million in dead money for 2026 and $21.248 million in 2027. They would also receive a $4.987 million credit on their 2027 salary cap if they did a post June 1 release. If the issues with Aiyuk are still ongoing the 49ers could look to claw back some of their bonus money which would reduce these numbers. I believe for that to happen they would probably need to suspend him.

This contract will go down as one of the big misfires in NFL history. At the end of the day the 49ers will have paid Aiyuk about $34 million of the $120 million contract extension that was signed in 2024. He has played no games in an extension year of the contract. Including his rookie contract, the team will have paid him $48 million for 7 games, 25 receptions, and 374 yards. Had the 49ers not signed the extension they would have paid Aiyuk $14.12 million for last season and then allowed him to leave the team as a free agent.

That is exactly why the 9ers are in no hurry to accommodate ayuck. The have recouped any $$ they could. They can just let him rot on a shelf.

So he’s busy bad mouthing the org, trying to entice them into releasing him. Meanwhile, they take the hits (none too flattering) on social media, knowing they blew it but can’t hurt financially any more than they already have.

If I’m the 9ers, I say, “fuck him. Let him sit a year and see what he’s worth to anybody then.”

As Marie Antoinette once said, "let them eat cake".

Except Marie Antoinette never said that. That was French bourgeoisie propaganda against the monarchy, inflaming the common people against them.

The actual quotation was in French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau's book who said that a princess said about starving peasants, "Qu'ils mangent de la brioche" (translated to "Let them eat brioche.").

Rousseau's book was in 1765 - when Marie Antoinette was nine years old and still living in Austria.

Brandon Aiyuk signed a 4 year contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers worth $120.0 million with $45 million guaranteed at signing and a $76 million total guarantee package. The contract includes option bonuses in 2025 ($22.855 million) and in 2026 ($24.935 million). Another $31 million in injury guarantees vest on April 1, 2025. Initial details courtesy of ProFootball Talk. The contract extension created $8.399 million in cap savings for 2024.
I guess the injury guarantees didn't vest? That is A LOT of guaranteed money to spend for nada.

Aiyuk is by FAR my favorite 9er of all-time. He’s great. Keep it up bro. Loving it!

And..... Aiyuk's last play in a game against the Rams was the whiner's toss the ball around desperation after the Rams scored against the whiners with seconds left to play to take the lead. On that play Aiyuk had his clock cleaned by a special teams player. (I think so but could be wrong)

Mel Brooks Morons GIF

BONUS POINTS for using Brooks…

Also, if the story is true, that line was ad-libbed by Gene Wilder when he saw Cleavon Kittle struggling with the open racism in the script (and don’t anybody be mad at me, it was kinda the point of the script to show the blatant racism and Richard Pryor dialed it up to 11 as one of the screenwriters). It was an early shot and I guess Little hadn’t expect to feel some type of way about it and was surprised by his own reaction. Apparently, after that take, he really leaned into the Sheriff Bart role and took it up a notch.

Meh, it’s bread and cake is bread. Bread rolls off the tongue better than brioche 250 years later.

How nice of your friend to provide a diaper wipe in the changing room. Hopefully you put it to good use.

Agreed. No way the Rams would let someone carry on so much drama, and headache with the organization. He woulda been cut long ago. Dead cap or not.

I thought this guy I saw at morning mass in Capitola today (I’m on vacation) was Aiyuk. He came & left on a bike. Which would make total sense and didn’t make me think otherwise. But the guy seemed really chill & cool. So it’s very unlikely him lol.
