If the X role is a priority for them they may take Ayomanor tonight. Though we are in range where he could go off any pick.

Still think they go slot though.

Don’t think it was Tet. He does not align with their North Star. It was probably for a TE. The who from her is pure speculation.

Tom Pelissero was just on the Dan Patrick show saying it was Egbuka the Rams tried to trade up for. This makes a ton more sense. It would have been less of a trade up for a WR that's infinitely more of a fit for the Rams.

Yeah that washes better. Never know of course. But thinking slot via TE or WR is the priority and it isn't like the Rams to go against cultural fit.

Doesn't make sense to me. McVay covets the ability of A WR to separate. And, McMillan, for his size and athleticism, does not separate that well.

Like last year I'm glad they were not able to move up. If they moved up last year we would not have Verse or Fiske. Now they have two quality defensive linemen they would not have had and several different options with the extra first next year.

Depending on how things go they've got choices of using a pick to trade for a proven veteran to enhance a ready to contend roster this year. Or use the picks to trade up for a quarterback next year. Or stand pat and stock the roster with more blue chip talent.

If we were to rank needs right now CB is probably our biggest. Hitting on corner probably helps us more than any other position.

I think Slot is a big need too but maybe they want the X and then move shit around from there. I mean maybe Tutu ends up in the slot too at least a chunk of the time. Also slot ties in with TE, which opens up some big target possibilities.

But also one thing we don't talk about a lot is we don't know what was said between McVay and Stafford. For all we know this might be Stafford's last season in horns. If that is the case then they have done a great job of stacking next year's draft to go get the QB.

However one thing about McVay is he is detailed as fuck and his offense has a ton of nuance. So if this is Stafford's last season in horns and there's a gentleman's agreement on it or whatever, a handshake done in that moment everyone else got kicked out of the room, then McVay and Snead would secretly be prioritizing the QB position more than anyone realizes.

Just saying it is possible that QB is a bigger need than anyone is insinuating in the media. If so they're gonna come out of this draft with a QB, as regardless of whether they hit or miss it's about taking a shot to be a step ahead next year this time.

If so, this is just another case where the other teams saved the Rams from making a mistake, IMO.
Not necessarily. Other teams placed the price so high that the Rams decided that they weren’t going to pay the price. If you’re not inquiring about moving up in the draft for a player you want you’re not doing your job. Rams dangled an offer but it was something that they were willing to trade. Teams wanted more and Rams said no thanks. Just my perspective.

Supposedly the Rams and another team were actively trying to trade up and both teams gave up after Egbuka came off the board at 19 to the Buccaneers.

And with this the Rams were saved from making a mistake as there wasn't anyone in this draft worthy of a trade up, IMO.
