The Rams should trade WR Sammy Watkins for Lions CB Darius Slay

So you would pay him DeAndre Hopkins money when he's not even half of Hopkins?

He does have that kind of talent though. It’s just a matter if McVay thinks he can coach him up. There is not a Ram WR who is as talented as Sammy , not many in the NFL .

These are the tough decisions The Rams have to make. Tavon Austin was another story . He is or was not much of ascending player.

Jake you can question it all you want , but if Sammy Watkins can put his mind to it , he has HOF talent. He is only 24 ?
ThT is such a far stretch, but 80 & 1,000 plus the next 8 years would put him towards the top .

FWIW, Spotrac speculates on the future contract length and value of certain free agents, and they included Sammy in that short list of predicted contracts. They compared his statistics and production, much like we do, to WRs with similar stats who recently signed a new contract or extension. In their opinion, Sammy is worth about $18 million over a three-year contract. And as for Darius Slay, the Lions would eat $8.7 million in dead cap space if they traded or cut him before the 2018 season, also according to Spotrac, so that ain't happening.

The poll's a little skewed if you ask me. Insinuating that you can't bring back Joyner or TruJo if you tag or sign Watkins. Odds are, with or without Watkins Tru's gonna leave. They can still re-sign Joyner and retain Watkins. Its not an either or thing.

It’s truly amazing to me how this keeps coming up. Did anyone other than Alden Gonzales ever suggest the Rams might franchise Watkins?

I think you are right. It probably shows how much these various bloggers and writers plagiarize each other instead of doing their own research.
