The good news is, we don't have to worry about who our punt returner is, with this D. The other team will never have to punt!

The good news is that they were really successful getting to the QB today. Wentz was just apparently covered in baby oil. I’m skeptical Brady will be able to as slippery.
I also think as the season goes on and the offense continues to gel and click and score points that Morris will probably feel more comfortable dialing some stuff up and playing less conservative.

Thing is Brady gets rid of the ball so fast which is what two sub par offenses did to us to move that ball. So Brady and his weapons will be a true test. Maybe Morris and Mcvey played it a little more chill and will unveil more looks offensively defensively in this upcoming game. We shall see.

That's just plain stupid....I was willing to give Morris the benefit of doubt but so far he's proving to be a huge downgrade as a DC.
Oh come on, man. You were complaining loudly about the exact same things about Staley much of last year. You went on and on about how Staley was a total idiot, who couldn't make obvious adjustments, who was a huge downgrade from Philipps, and who should be fired.

And now you turn around and say that Morris is the total idiot who can't make obvious adjustments and is a huge downgrade from Staley!

Look, you are obviously passionate and know a lot about the X's and O's of football, and your analysis is welcome. But try a little nuance, man!

Like with Perkins-- yeah he's a solid prospect, but it sure felt like a stretch when you said the Rams were "set at QB for the next 15 years" with him. Sorry to pester ya, I just personally would consider your opinions more if there were less hyperbole and more shades of grey. Cheers

Is this the chicken little thread…

Boy I miss the good ol days, when we had actual problems to complain about.

I agree, ... and that 7 point Special Teams giveaway on the Scott 'fumble' skewed the scoring somewhat. Defense looked quite good during most of those goal line plays, and we shouldn't forget that Refs just look in the opposite direction when it comes to those non-holding calls when guys are draped all over Donald.
I was just dumb struck watching the replay of the Scott gaff. The ball hits him square in the arm and the guy didn't flinch or react in the slightest. Just started running forward towards the LOS. Baffling for sure.

As far as the defense I have to disagree with the OP. Our defense will have to be more stout against better teams when our Offense get's slowed down. Letting teams have long sustained drives like we have in the first 2 games is not a recipe for a SB Champ.

My question (off topic as it may be) is how in the ACTUAL fuck did Scott not feel that ball hit him damn near square in the nutz??? It looked so amazingly derpy to me to see him release and fall into the line after fucking that play, and his team, and almost that game up.

I’m concerned about the Rams defense like many of us. I’m not putting all the blame on Raheem Morris, players need to wrap up but from what I’m seeing, his bend but don’t break scheme is worrisome. When we go up against top notch offenses it will be tough to watch playing this type of D because it will get broken IMO. Tighten it up Raheem or things could get ugly in a hurry.

The D goal should be to get off the field as fast as possible. Every play is a risk. Both physicly and to the out come of the game. I will never understand soft D. Brady will eat this D up if we play soft. You have to make him hold the ball by changing looks and playing tight coverage. I hope Morris has been holding back stuff for this game.

i'm sure everyone had the same reaction but thinking back about it he may have wanted to give hekker a target if he managed to get a pass away. wishful thinking?

I just hope they knock it off with the soft coverages and 10 yard cushions. That more than anything was the reason why the Colts were able to move the ball as much as they did yesterday, and that's entirely a function of defensive playcalling. Plus, I don't think our guys are more suited to a little more aggression and a tighter coverage.

Our offense going 3 and out, certainly won't help.

Our defense has been on the field, more than Our offense.

It's definitely something that we need to focus on.

That's easy. Let the other team score on the first play of every drive and the D will get off the field in record time.

The goal of the D is to keep the opposing team's score as small as possible.

That being said, I would also like to see the Rams play with a hard D.

The defense has been okay not great - but this isn't much different than a lot of last year.

We played the same soft zone- do people think we were playing press man last year?

rams rank 12th in ypg... which is solid.

If you take away the special teams snap - which in no way should go on the defense record

then they are like 4th in ppg.

So i agree the defense has looked soft - but overall the numbers are good.
