The instant this ship started sinking was the instant Cooper Kupp was injured.

No offense at all, I think we all kinda know that.
What we can't figure out is how losing Kupp made our O-line start sucking 3 weeks later.

I think everyone agrees we miss Kupp badly. We were still able to play some good football without him because the rest of the team was still executing.
Then Goff got sacked. Then he got hit again. Then batted passes. Then another free rusher..and another...another run bottled up... an errant pass, an interception... suddenly our bread and butter is in crumbles.

Fix the problems with the O-line and my money is on Goff and Co to start executing again.

I always felt if a team is that bad after losing one guy, well, maybe they weren't who we thought they were. Seems like losing Gurley for a bit affected the offense more than anything. Giving up 30 points to a backup quarterback can lose you games also.

A back up QB that was also the MVP of the Super Bowl last year.

And yet Goff went out and torched the Chiefs D for 40 points, 4 TD's and over 400 yards in the first game without Kupp. And that was with Gurley slightly dinged and not as much of a factor as you would expect in a game like that.

Don't get me wrong, I love Kupp and wish we had him back, but I'm not buying that theory. The loss of Kupp isn't the reason our OL isn't protecting Goff as well, nor is it the reason Goff is not hitting open WR's as consistently as he used to be.

our offense is definitly worse without Kupp in there but our passing offense is predicated on the play action Gurley has been hurt since the lions game and if i a 40 year old guy form London who has been watching the NFL for 10-11 years can see it all the pro coaches can for sure see it .. no threat from Gurley play teo deep safeties and blitz the crap out of our o line and rattle Goff

Cooper Kupp is a very good player, but if he's the guy that derails your season, you're in trouble. Every team has injuries, more than the Rams.

The Rams just aren't as good as they were earlier in the season. The OL is playing worse. Goff seems to be affected by the rush more lately and is making bad decisions. I think D's have somewhat caught up to the Rams O. IDK how the rest of the season will play out. Hopefully they start playing better ball these last 2 games and go into the postseason with some momentum. At this point it looks like 1 and done is just as likely, maybe moreso, than a championship. We will see how good McVay and Goff really are the rest of the season. I'm not too surprised with the 2 losses, the Rams season thru the Chiefs game was almost too good a story to be true. I think they are more mentally exhausted then anything else. They need to gather themselves, work through solutions to their recent problems and play hard for each other. Relax and have fun. It's not the end of the world if they don't win the SB.

Losing Kupp hurts, but the level of defense has increased, the offensive scheme has been figured out, and it looks like the team has hit a wall mentally and physically.

Based on my observations from the couch, I think McVay will adjust. The bears and eagles played zone and took away the big plays. We could have gained 5-7 yards on almost any play by hitting the short zone or flats but the Rams are designed to run and go downfield. There will be games when we will need to dink and dunk our way to a score. Just like how teams do that to the Rams to avoid the pass rush.

The offense needs to be patient and take shots after we get the defense to loosen up a bit. This will also allow Goff to avoid getting hit.

It sort of is....I mean it seemed like when protection broke down early in a play Goff always knew where Kupp was and hit him early. It feels like now without Kupp, he is holding the ball a little longer and getting himself in trouble.

Early on the Eagles...like the Bears....played 10!!! guys within 6-8 yards of the LoS. Gotta see that and play call accordingly, which we didn’t.

Also... The last couple of weeks it seemed every play was designed to be a kill shot. Need to recognize that doesn’t always work and take the 5-7 yard plays and be patient.

Just a shame to see the failure of basic situational football at the end of the game with JoJo not calling a fair catch and guys not getting out of bounds on the final drive.

The good thing in all this...it’s not a talent deficit so it truly can be fixed.

That could be a big part of it. Kupp could get open quickly with his body fakes. He also ran short routes most of the time but got lot's of YAC. It's not the only problem but, I think it has an effect of the offense.

3rd and long is where we miss Kupp the most. Reynolds has stepped up but he's not Kupp.

In a big way I think it demonstrates how bad KC's defense is. For all our problems, and how poor our defense has played, I like ours better than theirs for the playoffs.

Kupp is definitely what is missing. He's so good that it's going to take multiple players stepping up to sustain the same potency on offense. It's a bummer and makes me worried for next year too when I want to see the Rams draft some damn defense this offseason. Seems like OL and WR are doing what they can to screw that up.

What scares me is how will we adjust and will we adjust. Does McVay believe that execution will fix the problem or has the league figured us out a bit? Once the league caught up with martz we went from a Ferrari to a Mustang. I hope that is not what we are seeing here

Reynolds <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Kupp

I believe we will also soon hear Gurley has been playing through an injury. His straight ahead burst is still there but his lateral movement is much more restrained.
