I find it interesting how whenever the Rams don’t draft who some thought they should, that it’s the Rams who are wrong, not they themselves. I didn’t realize we had such perfect people here on ROD.

It's not just on ROD. Draftniks everywhere get their knickers in a twist when their favourite prospects are overlooked; I suppose that they can't accept the fact that they were so wrong.

A lot of people think the team blew the draft when their picks don't align with media, when it's the media that blew their predictions. People act like the team doesn't know as much as some joe blow wannabe doing a podcast.

Who is doing that here? Every year UDFA outplay draft picks so you could say that teams quite clearly get it wrong too :)

Right? I have my favourites but I know nothing really. I'd never say the Rams blew it or whatever since they didn't take my guys.

Shedeur is a great example of this. Totally media driven prospect. If his name was Shedeur Jackson he'd never have been considered a top prospect in the first place.

Yeah, but there's a difference between "oh, not who I would have picked but let's get behind them, they're a Ram now", vs "they blew it they should have drafted so and so instead".

To be fair I haven't seen a lot of the latter the last few days but there's still been a bit.

What about the year he had WR Mike Williams as the best player on his board. He was frothing at the mouth after every pick that wasn't Mike Williams. Eventually the Lions, the idiots, picked him up with the 10th pick. He gave their draft grade an A+ instantly. Said they got the biggest steal in draft history.

He ended up being one of the biggest busts in draft history.

Funny.

And … Jimmy Clausen … and … Brady Quinn.

A non-talent evaluator that collects data, information and the opinions of experienced talent evaluators, is valuable.

When that same person starts to believe he is a qualified talent evaluator, his value and usefulness to me declines significantly.

I agree with those who graded the draft high but we missed an opportunity IMO at the back of the 7th and in UDFA

We had a great opportunity to sign CBs Cobee Bryant and Zy Alexander together with OTs Logan Brown and Hollin Pierce

It kills me that we didn’t throw some money at them to get them signed. All four should have been drafted ahead of Mumford

Our draft is pretty cheap in terms of salary impact so I am a surprised we didn’t do everything to sign these 4 UDFA - at positions of need - one of which, at least, would probably have made the active roster
That’s the thing u think it’s a position of need rams don’t think that … I think they cool with Durant , Witherspoon , Forbes and Williams … and they get cb back who tore acl

No I disagree because he was a better qb then everybody picked before him except for maybe cam ward and it wasn’t even close

Good call - what happened to MIKE WILLIAMS was F’D UP !! Just shows how F’D UP THE NCAA & NFL are in regards to POWER!!

I just look at where everything is today compared to HISTORY!!Sports have gotten this way of out of control Money & then other Money.

My point is I’ve always liked the History of Sports.I’m a USC - SO CAL guy.PRO SPORTS is Crazy insane.
THE NCAA has ALWAYS been West Coast BIAS!! Funny my days go back to LEN! Last game was LB Arena.

Talk to Oldschool! THE RAMS have there UDRFA’s already in place.
—My question to him would be do The Rams bring Jalen Ramsey back.

The FUNNY thing is Sean Mcvay learned his lesson with Ahkello & what he brings & who he is as a player, but more important as a Person.

IMO I believe he might like The Rams SO much as he can show the 9ers how F’D UP they are.At least with The Rams it being able to be given The Chance to Show how good he is & that opportunity.

Here is a good interview on some of his thoughts. The Funny thing & what he(Mcvay) know is he sort of F’d up.Je’ll(The Rams) will get to FINALLY be shown what a Leader & his Great he is as a player in 2025 .He hasn’t EVER been through OTA’s & has done just as much as Jalen Ramsey as a Ram(Dolphin).

Cobee Bryant concerns me given his size as a potential liability vs. the run. Also, not a fan of all the penalties either. Especially in college as the NFL seems to call things even tighter.

I don't have all the details, but I've read that after years of being a backup, Logan Brown got kicked off the Wisconsin team prior to his playing one season at Kansas where he finally became a starter. Those limited reps and character issues probably kept him off the Rams board.

He should say - Fuck It - I'm retiring
Heck no.
Hes the kind of guy....just athletic enough to stick on a roster, smart player (green dot guy on a Championship team), high effort player....that ends up having a 10 year career.
Hes a good depth/ST player.
The LB group has been improved a fair bit with the drafting of Paul however.
Paul/Landman/Speights will be on the roster with Reeder and or Fields going to the PS.

Let's see what spots are even open (roster locks):

QB (2)

RB (3) - Rivers likely the 4th

WR (5) - battle for 6th spot between X. Smith and UDFAs - though Smith likely wins and is the returner

TE (4)

OL (7) - calling both Shelton and McClendon locks here - battle for two spots between Leveston, Arcuri, Dedich and McMahon

DL (6) - Turner, Fiske, Ford, Hamilton, Johnson, Davis - Murchison fighting for us to keep a 7th

Edge (5) - Verse, Young, Stewart, Jackson, Hampton - Thomas fighting for us to keep a 6th

ILB (3) - Landman, Speights, Paul - Reeder fighting for us to keep a 4th

CB (5) - trade might bump one of the bottom guys, but no room for a UDFA here unless they blow the staff away

S (4) - Lake, Curl, Kinchens, McColough

ST (3)

After the draft, that is roughly 47 locks and then Rivers, X. Smith, Murchison, Keir Thomas, Reeder and four OL who have been with us for years fighting for three spots.

That is 9 players who have been with our organization in some capacity fighting for the last six roster spots alongside the UDFA class.

I wouldn't get attached to any of these guys - going to take a lot to make this team this year

Snead and McVay said as much in their press conference. They were fine only drafting 6 because there's not a lot of space for rookies given their roster.
