Let's see what spots are even open (roster locks):

QB (2)

RB (3) - Rivers likely the 4th

WR (5) - battle for 6th spot between X. Smith and UDFAs - though Smith likely wins and is the returner

TE (4)

OL (7) - calling both Shelton and McClendon locks here - battle for two spots between Leveston, Arcuri, Dedich and McMahon

DL (6) - Turner, Fiske, Ford, Hamilton, Johnson, Davis - Murchison fighting for us to keep a 7th

Edge (5) - Verse, Young, Stewart, Jackson, Hampton - Thomas fighting for us to keep a 6th

ILB (3) - Landman, Speights, Paul - Reeder fighting for us to keep a 4th

CB (5) - trade might bump one of the bottom guys, but no room for a UDFA here unless they blow the staff away

S (4) - Lake, Curl, Kinchens, McColough

ST (3)

After the draft, that is roughly 47 locks and then Rivers, X. Smith, Murchison, Keir Thomas, Reeder and four OL who have been with us for years fighting for three spots.

That is 9 players who have been with our organization in some capacity fighting for the last six roster spots alongside the UDFA class.

I wouldn't get attached to any of these guys - going to take a lot to make this team this year
There is always roster turnover. We may see some surprising cuts or even bittom of the roster trades. Who knows, maybe we trade a guy like Davis Allen...maybe send our 4th TE back to Miami as a part of a trade for Ramsey?? Stuff like that can and will happen.

Like you said some young vets like Reeder, Hampton, Thomas, Kendrick, Murchison, Rivers, Allen, several OL, etc... will be fighting for a spot. We already lost several contributors in FA, so there will be spots available. Maybe not like last year, but I bet a couple UDFAs make the roster and several will be on the PS.

Its smart the way the Rams have done this.
Last two years, lots of pick as they try to "remodel not rebuild" on the go.
Now, the roster is largely very solid, so, move around and draft fewer players but at spots with possible impact.
Only six picks, but, I think the top 5 will all have roles year one.

If X. Smith is battling for a 6th WR spot, who is the 5th WR after Nacua, Adams, Atwell, and Whittington?

The Rams did not select an OL, so KT Leveston is going to be huge for them this year as I believe he will be the swing tackle. Played LT at Kansas State, might be able to hold down the RT position and be available to back up Jackson too, unless the Rams make a trade.

Since we were so intentional with this draft, the roster numbers and the breakdowns I've seen - I'm putting Mumpfield there. It's possible he heads for the PS though

@Memphis Ram great info, looking more at Trey Wedig as he started 18 games at RT started all games last year. Needs to get stronger, only 17 Reps on the bench, his 20 yard split and 10 yard split, he graded high.

Overview

Tackle/guard prospect with steady game tape. Wedig possesses an NFL frame but will need to add more upper-body power and core strength. He’s an intelligent player with consistent recognition of where to be and what to do. He centers up run blocks and stays connected but is better as a move blocker than he is when asked to drive someone off the ball. Wedig’s pass protection is solid when he’s in position but his lack of length and average slide quickness could have teams pushing him inside to guard, where he will need to prove he’s strong enough to take on NFL defensive tackles.

The point is many, including me, don’t agree which is why I tend to think there is something in the Ramsey rumours. Forbes is a wildcard

Dolac seems especially intriguing out of this group - although the Rams seemingly always find some gems in the after draft signings.

Another Acuri type. Acuri not developing thus far so maybe this guy can develop over the next few years.

It's not just on ROD. Draftniks everywhere get their knickers in a twist when their favourite prospects are overlooked; I suppose that they can't accept the fact that they were so wrong.

I expected more from Acuri, thought he would be a decent LT, but did not answer the call last year. IMO, it is Leveston and then Wedig could be the Tackle to develop on the practice squad. Although Wedig never played LT.

What about the year he had WR Mike Williams as the best player on his board. He was frothing at the mouth after every pick that wasn't Mike Williams. Eventually the Lions, the idiots, picked him up with the 10th pick. He gave their draft grade an A+ instantly. Said they got the biggest steal in draft history.

He ended up being one of the biggest busts in draft history.

Funny.

McVay let it slip in the postdraft show with the boys that he wants to keep Higs healthy, so wanted a "few guys" behind him, paraphrasing. This leads me to believe he is ready to go with a 4 TE room assuming they can battle for the roster spots at the bottom vs WR and the rest of the offensive roles. At that point of course you can end up losing out to a returner role for teams, or a gunner or whatever, so it's dicey, but I'd say this is a good offseason for a UDFA TE to break in. Hope he's ready to get to work.

Huge fan of Dolac, Lampkin and Tru Edwards. Edwards brings size, hands, and Rams lineage (father is Troy, first round pick, played a bit for the St. Louis Rams).

Yeah, I like the group. Many will be stashed on the PS and a few will stick on the roster.

Man, I hope they are very high on Leveston because otherwise one injury to Alaric puts us back into what we watched the first couple of games last season. Our offense was absolutely useless without Alaric in there. We never got to watch Leveston so hopefully he showed out in practice to the coaches. Otherwise, I do not like the position we are currently in for LT.
