That's one door down, but they don't open for a few minutes. Feel free to grab a drink from the cooler though before you make your way over there.
I am just shocked none of our friends have taken the initiative

I knew something was off. McVay has all 3 time outs he must of wanted to hurry this game so he can get back to his wife and newborn, but why wouldn’t you just stay home if your head was elsewhere?…

Gurley would have been a first ballet HOFer if his knees held up. If we can't win games without a HOF rb, we have bigger problems.

This offense is middle of the road. Not real good. Not real bad. Stafford is becoming a middle of road quarterback. Part of it is the play calling. Part of it is the poor pass protection. Part of it his him. They are a little better than last year's offense. But with the defense being so much worse you can't expect many more wins.

But the offense was supposed to be appreciably better.
The defense? Was supposed to be appreciably worse, objectively.

Talent matters. Rams have had trouble replacing key players.

They finally found a RB to replace Gurley, years after he was done. That's on McVay for not prioritizing it and providing fallback plans instead of settling for the same shitters on the depth chart for multiple years. Same thing with the OL. It was smart to let Corbs leave in FA but the problem is they failed to replace him. They had no choice but to let Whit retire but the plan to replace him was, once again, a guy who we all knew might struggle to stay healthy and who had trouble with power rushers (Boom). OBJ put this WR group over the top but they have only shown an ability to draft a specific type of wideout, those who are intelligent and versatile and separate well, which is not the worst thing but they lack speed there still.

Rams are a slow team. They're slow outside both hashes on defense and they're slow at wideout. They're slow at ILB. This is compared to the elite level teams/positions. People don't want to hear it, I realize, but it's true. They have some speed at corner but one of them cannot tackle (Durant) and the other is stupid (does dumb shit and gets flags) and probably is struggling with the scheme (Tomlinson).

No coach is so good or so smart that he can overcome a significant talent differential. Rams are fighting to win a wildcard spot instead of vying for a division crown because the roster is short. Nacua and Williams have been a shot in the arm but neither are enough to cure all the ills with this roster. We're a team who can play with anyone when the boys execute but has very little room for error.

They used a 2nd round pick on Cam Akers, and for a while he looked to be really good.

And slow at WR? Atwell says hi.

You gotta be healthy (Akers) and effective (Tutu) to count.

The early McVay years we had Gurley who could score from anywhere on any play. We have not had that kind of threat at RB since. Plus Gurley could pound it in once we reached the redzone which leads to less FGs. Some of those high scoring games the D scored also, like the KC Monday night game, the D scored 2 or 3 TDs, I cant remember exactly.

It's kinda like the morons who said McVay is washed or his scheme is falling behind and he's losing touch are what I've called them all year.. morons.

I take an Oline over a top RB or scheme any day and twice on Sundays.

Todd Gurley benefited from that Whitworth Saffold Sullivan Havenstein Oline to the tune of 4.7 and 4.9 YPC in 2017 and 2018.

Without that Oline he had 3.2 and 3.8 YPC years (before they arrived in 2016 and when they were banged up in 2019).

Remember in those glory years we had one of the few Olines that played every game.

Look across the league and offenses fall off dramatically when that Oline deteriorates. Latest example is the Chiefs who are now a mediocre offense at 23 PPG. The examples are endless. But again, Gurley couldn't do jack shit without a good Oline.

Look at the Falloff the Lions had with Pro Bowl center and LT getting banged up.

Look at what happened to Miami with their Oline injuries.

Look at the Cowboys resurrgence and Dak's stats since their Oline got healthy.

Don't get me wrong, RB and scheme do affect things. We have seen KW directly affect the outcome of games. We have also seen Mcvay's playcalling directly affect the outcome of games. But Oline trumps playcaller and RB in it's impact on the offensive production.

The other component is QB. Clearly this position has the biggest impact on the offense. But even without a good Oline a QB in most cases is useless. The only exception to this is when you have a Running QB like Jackson, or a QB that can get the ball out quick and own the short game like Burrow or Purdy, IMO. Even then, those QB's and offenses will be limited.

If your a team like the Niners that have Elite skill players and Elite playcalling then you can have success with an Oline that is barely average. But good luck getting a Deebo, Mcaffery and the best blocking TE and FB in the league. They are a rare exception to the rule in my book.

The Rams can definitely use more speed.
Tutu is effective this year. Not sure what we’re talking about. Plenty of actual production and draws PI calls.
His speed has had a positive impact.
And, as we’ve seen.. Puka is plenty fast.
I’d like to see Evans run with the first team to see if he’s figuring it out. He’s supposed to be explosive.
