Kobe's 60 point game finale to end his career.
I was in tears. Rewatched that game a few months ago with my Dad just a few days before he passed.
We watched Kobe grow up on the Lakers and to see him close it out like that was so ridiculous but also so fitting.
I was at the Raptors game at Staples where he single handedly willed them to an overtime win and ended up with I think 43 points. I think they were down by 9 with 2 minutes to go and he tied it up with 3 crazy shots and Raptors clanking shots. Still get chills.

I liked the win and Bakers play and glad the Rams signed him. A huge improvement at backup QB. But he's still a knucklehead. Being amped up is one thing, but head butting a guy wearing a helmet while not wearing one yourself is proof.

Mark my words. Mayfield will make more knucklehead moves before he's done with the Rams. I'll take it as long as he wins games, but you can't fix stupid.

Wouldnt count that 2017 "championship" we all know they were cheating....
Normally this statement is just sour grapes. But they admitted it and were punished.

Still don't understand why their title wasn't officially rescinded and given to the Dodgers. So sick of hearing the Dodgers haven't won the WS (in a full season) since the 80s. Umm, what about 2017, you pieces of shit?

Just chiming in that I think this thread is cool as hell. Awesome reading about or seeing clips of all these moments, many of which I've forgotten about.

Lol, did you see they guy he head butted? He rubbed his helmet like it hurt him more than Mayfield. Baker's lucky he didn't end up with stitches or something.

There have been a lot of crazy, unbelievable sporting moments. Famous at-bats/snaps/shots that happened before my time (e.g. Ruth calling his shot) excluded, these are the top few that I've experienced with my own eyes in real time:
  • Kirk Gibson's World Series HR on one leg
  • Miracle on Manchester Kings comeback from 0-5 against the Oilers
  • Miracle on Ice (USA win vs the mighty USSR in the Olympics)
  • The tackle, giving the Rams their first Super Bowl victory
  • The Mayfield Miracle (yes, I just named it)
In my view, they all have two things in common to make them special for me.
  1. Improbability
  2. Impact
Everything on this list except what happened last night had a huge impact. From a Super Bowl win to put a bow on the improbable Kurt Warner season, to playoff victories against heavy favorites leading to Championships, respect or Gold medals.

My point is that if the impact of last night turns into the resurrection of Baker Mayfield's career, and it's with the Rams upon Stafford's retirement over the next few seasons, I think it will take the number one spot for me.

Where would you rank the above?

Any moments I missed?

It's only one game, but if Baker plays well for McSnead, the Rams got an overall #1 pick at QB for nothing. Of course that's if we can keep him as Stafford's backup.

Pretty seeet - you went there though.
Brought up older memories,Maybe even more modern moments.

Brett looked like he was off the roofs there though. To think Aaron is there manager.Pissed Aaron Judge won the MVP.Then again I’ll change my mind. Judge was better on the bases this year & way better from his own past.

At the CSULB summer league. Have a photo he & D. Fish. Kobe was wearing #10,just because World Cup is going on that makes the memory cool. Meshi had a lucky goal today.

Yeah, the headbutt is sort of Baker's thing, so hopefully we see it more often:

View: https://twitter.com/cjzero/status/1590921534998200321

“I’ve always done that,” Mayfield told reporters. “It just so happened to get caught on camera. I’ve done that since college [at Oklahoma].

“I love this game. I love my teammates. We work too hard not to enjoy it. Yeah, a good headbutt every once in a while goes a long way.”

On the other hand, sure hope he doesn't Gus Frerotte himself:

All I can say is
"KNOCK YOURSELF OUT BAKER"

I've clearly never been a fan of Baker's. But it seems that he has purged his immature demons and is trying to be a true professional. As long as he is a Ram I will be supportive of him. He has discovered the value of study and the wisdom of attempting to improve himself professionally. Good for him. If this really is the new Baker Mayfield it's not like he doesn't have talent. He's only 27 so he could have a long career.

I think it would be wise for him to sign a one-year deal as a backup. It couldn't hurt to have a year and a half under McVay on his resume. Also, if this team returns to form he could get a ring. You have to be amazed at how he turned both Skowronek and Tutu into starters. Robinson better have a fast start next year because with the emergence of Skowronek and Tutu the Rams have a really loaded WR group. Regardless I think Robinson is gone in 2024. If they can trade him next year I think they will. With Kupp, Jefferson, Tutu, Skowronek and Powell I think they are 5 deep at WR without Robinson. IMO they should make Powell an RB and draft another RB. They should unload Akers. His fumbles are becoming too frequent and costly.

As badly as Skura has stunk up the field two weeks in a row I have to think Thomas has to be an option.

If Baker continues his lights out play it will change the whole dynamic of the remaining games if they can simply get rid of Skura. They have a realistic opportunity to sweep the remaining 4 games with IMO a real chance of at least going 3-1 to close out the season. My friend in Seattle says people are now thinking the Rams will beat the Hawks in the finale. He was shocked at how good Tutu and Skowronek were. Now that Kendrick has been benched (finally) Morris should play Rochell who is far and away a better option in man coverage. Hill like Kendrick lacks the speed to play in anything but zone.

Extended weather forecast right now is cold (12-20 deg F) light wind (5-10mph) no snow. That is about as mild as you can get up there in Dec. Baker has played in that kind of weather so he should be fine.

If nothing else Baker has provided renewed interest in the remaining season for me.

I put it more in the category of Ryan Fitzpatrick's comeback against Houston
Was a ton of fun, but the reality is that it will be mostly forgotten since the Rams wont make the playoffs

Yeah, I think we’re getting a bit carried away here. No doubt about it, the game was amazing from the stand point Mayfield had practically no prep time, but in the long run that game is not gonna resurrect this season. It simply came too late.

Furthermore, it’s a bit myopic to think because it was a Rams game, it automatically jumps to some all time list that includes, say, the Gibson HR.
…but I still can’t believe what I saw. I’m glad I saw it live.

I agree. Had a friend that was going.I could have probably jumped a ride & went to the game.Chipped in for parking & gas. Get a ticket at SOFI. They were running a little late. Got a text when the Raiders had the ball on their 2nd drive. SOFI seems like it takes a minute to get to seats? Not sure though. Went to 1st OTA & ChillinPeppers, plus You tube which is a cool venue. Pay more for parking than the tickets sometimes?

Anyway he said The Best football game he saw live.He was digging Baker Mayfield early & Raider Fans seemed like jerks.

My thing was AL & Herbstreet said it best. Ram Players(coaches)were just happy they had a QB who can spin it.

Baker helps Rams to evaluate true talent & probably better than Mattew Stafford right now.
His running ability & how he works down field gives players a chance to make plays other than Cooper Kupp.Meaning play calling.

Has Ric Flair winning the Royal Rumble in 1992 from number three been mentioned yet?

I’ll stick to Richard Sherman & why was the DC playing man?

That dumb DT who knocked the ball out of Mayfields hand after he was sacked by both DE’s.

The mom-holding call on Big Rob who was being beat all day.
