So much depends on wether or not the draft class is any good, when it comes to failure on round one picks. We've seen nearly every top ten player bust in some years. It has to be difficult in years where a GM knows its a lousy class overall.

PFF had a great podcast talking about how the Vikings took advantage if this. The talk a bit about Purdy throwing over the middle and think he just gets lucky. The Vikings play three safeties and they let one play a ball hawk role be wise they trust his instincts. It worked.

I recommend the PFF podcast on the Niners/Vikings game. Flores used the same defense that killed the Rams in 2019, and in the Super Bowl that year. It worked well against that offense and especially Purdy.
 
He's like Cee-Lo...short arms and small hands.

Just like I predicted the Niners are taking that step back, right on cue. Purdy is good but not the elite talent the media made him out to be. Just pressure him and lock down the first 20 yards. He's inconsistent beyond that especially under pressure.
 
it's too bad the rams suck this year. hate the niners. 3 in a row, hahaha

On the bright side, the yards per game is consistent. Lol
