Just bought a rose-gold necklace of Apophis and a sterling steel bracelet of Jormungandr (and I have my eye on a beautiful Fenrir necklace on Amazon that I’ll try to get next month when I have money again). Will post pics when I get them.

I'm sorry, but how the FUCK am I going to post images when - even literally downsizing them as far as they can viably go - they're too fucking big? I understand not wanting spammy images to be forwarded, I understand the site's need for speed, but this is absolutely fucking ridiculous. I can't post my iPhone's image and shrink it as far as they'll go, and this isn't the first issue I've had with posting images here.

Sorry for my rant, but this is absolutely stupid and annoying.

Do you have access to a laptop or desktop? Generally, they have an editing ability built in that you can easily resize an image to around 1 meg.

The problem as I understand it is that in order to accept images the size the newer phones take pictures at, we'd have to pay for a much bigger bandwidth ability. As you know, this is a site that does not profit. We don't have pop ups, advertising, etc... and that means the owners are paying for everything out of respect for the members as well as their love for the Rams and the comoradere (sp?) we have here above all else.

They pay for most out of pocket aside from some generous donor fans and spend countless hours working to have what we have here.

I get the frustration as I try to upload pictures directly from my phone and can't.

There are some free apps that will allow you to resize pictures on your phone but I tend to just upload them to my laptop and adjust them to fit.

It's a bit of a pain and we've discussed it before but seems to be a small inconvenience in order to have such a kick ass board.

Long story short. I know everyone involved in this board works hard as you know. We're all volunteers and the owners (many know who they are but I won't mention them ) don't make a dime - millions maybe.

Maybe if they win the lottery they'll expand capabilities but until then...

Cheers my friend.

Tried to circumvent it through Gmail, downsize it there, and post it via the image page. Still didn't work. Right now, I'm using my sister's laptop, so I can't save images on the computer itself until - I'm hoping - I get a replacement for mine.

All in all, though, I get it. I get that the bandwidth isn't big enough. It's just frustrating that I take a good picture of jewelry I got today (even if my body doesn't look great), and I can't post it here, no matter what I do. It's certainly not the end of the world, but it is admittedly frustrating.

Also, you're looking for "comradery". :D And I respect that more than anything else in the world.

See? I knew that wasn't right. I've been able to upload some pictures by cropping then on my phone but I had to turn down the settings when taking a picture. You should be able to go to your phone settings and choose a lower setting. They will still be pretty decent quality and post just fine.

Cheers Mems.

first……spliffs first, during and after……
second…..spliffs….plural….understand?

This is geeky, but... I live on the edge of Internet civilization and being at the end of a 1/4 mile gravel driveway - me and my neighbor will never sniff Internet cable or fiber... That means connectivity is left to whatever cell towers are nearby - or going to the library.

I've been using T-Mobile Home Internet (TMHI), which is more than adequate, with typical download performance of 50-150MB/s. Good enough to stream movies and a few rams streams at the same time. However the original TMHI modem is a Nokia, cylinder, referred to as the "trashcan" needs a lot of reboots... Enter GL.iNet products....

Their routers are considerably less expensive than typical home routers, with better features (including built-in VPN support, AdGuard and parental controls) - and perform well. They also run an open OS, WRT. They also have a router with a built in cellular modem support - for 2 different SIM Cards. I converted over from the trashcan to the GL-X3000 today and clocked the first download at 327Mb/s. Best signal strength I've ever had - but it does have external antenna's for both indoor WiFi and for the 5G tower.

I am delighted with it so far. Normally it costs around $500, but on Prime Day it was about $329. Shipped it to my kid in Oregon - saved another $30 (Wash sales tax hit).

As an update, my download speeds using the T-Mobile 5G modem/home Internet box, was typically 100mb/s to maybe 150mb/s --- The GL.iNet modem now gets 300+mb/s and as much as 430mb/s. Cellular speeds can vary due to many factors that the end user has no control over...

Welp, never buying that jewelry again. The chain was far too little, and one of the eyes of the wolf head was chipped. Returned it, and hopefully I'll get my money back, and maybe I'll try the Etsy site next?

The Anubis jackal and velociraptor stuffed animals are beautiful, though!
