Thought Claiborne would have made it. Also Travis Bond was one of our top 5 players from the Colts games according to PFF so if that's to be believed it's odd seeing someone on the o-line cut after a good performance.

Rams make 12 roster moves, still have two to go

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- The St. Louis Rams made 12 roster moves Monday to edge closer to the league-mandated 75 players that must populate rosters by Tuesday afternoon.

There were no big surprises on the list of those let go or placed on injured reserve, but cornerback Imoan Claiborne probably comes closest to qualifying. He played well in the preseason, including an interception in the opener against Oakland. But Claiborne was probably best known for punching Dallas wide receiver Dez Bryant in the face during a brawl between the teams in Oxnard, California, two weeks ago.

In addition to Claiborne, the Rams also released tackle Steven Baker, guard Travis Bond, (safety Jay Hughes, long snapper Tyler Ott, (kicker/punter Michael Palardy, (receiver Tyler Slavin, tight end Brad Smelley, (linebacker Korey Toomer and center David Wang. Smelly and Toomer were waived with the injury designation.

The Rams also terminated the contract of receiver Damian Williams and officially placed cornerback E.J. Gaines (foot) on injured reserve. That brings the roster to 77. They have until Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET to make the other three moves to get to 75.

This is how I imagine what happened when Fisher sat Wang down.

One of the biggest draft busts in recent memory may have reached the end of the line.

Trent Richardson, the running back selected third overall in the 2012 draft, has been released by the Raiders, according to ESPN.

Richardson had a disappointing rookie season with the Browns after going third overall, and was then traded to the Colts for a first-round pick. A complete disaster in Indianapolis, Richardson was cut this offseason. The Raiders picked him up, but he did not impress in the preseason.

Realistically, it’s hard to see any other team giving Richardson a chance after he was such a dismal failure in all three of his stops. At age 25, this once-promising running back has probably played his last snap in the NFL.

Josh Boyce among Patriots’ cuts

When the Patriots selected TCU wide receiver Josh Boyce in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL draft, they thought he had the potential to be a big-play player both on their offense and on special teams. It hasn’t worked out that way.

The Patriots announced today that Boyce has been released after two years with the team.

As a rookie the Patriots gave Boyce plenty of opportunities, but he ended the season with just nine catches for 121 yards, plus nine kickoff returns for 214 yards. In 2014 Boyce was largely phased out, playing only in the meaningless Week 17 game and never touching the ball.

Also cut by the Patriots today were receiver Jonathan Krause, tight end Jimmay Mundine, defensive lineman Joe Vellano and linebacker Dekoda Watson.

Cutting Claiborne may be good news for someone like Christian Bryant. He has taken reps as the nickel DB.

Might signify them keeping only 4 pure CBs and 6 Safeties.

CBs - Jenkins Johnson Joyner Roberson

S - McDonald McLeod Barron Alexander Davis Bryant

I say that in honor of Wang we should get the Ram's cheerleaders to help us all erect our Wang monuments to his memory!

I think Harkey/Kendricks are pretty good lead blockers, they do blow people up at times, see

It's inline TE blocking that's the problem. But overall I agree with you because FB is undervalued, the Rams could pay minimum wage for a FB to blow people up just the same.

They are decent at wham blocks of unsuspected defenders, but that's about it, IMO.

Won't happen in a million years, but if the Rams were truly serious about running the football, methinks that they would add a LEGIT FB to the Roster. And the Panthers just cut one in Lee Ward.

Here's another one with more wiggle in FB Trey Millard whom the 49ers just released.

I was sorry to see Claiborne go. But truthfully, The only reason I wanted to keep him, was because of the Heart he showed, when he gave 'Dez' that POP in the Jaw at Cowboy's practice!!
CoachO, My "Dark-Horse", sense the Draft, has been Trinca-Pasat, What chance do you give him on making the final cut!?! What's your opinion of him!?
