It really started last year when USC and UCLA jumped ship and joined the Big Ten

then last week Colorado joined the Big 12

and then.................

this morning , Oregon and Washington joined the Big Ten ,

and tonight , Arizona , Arizona State and Utah will be joining the Big 12

so it looks like by next week , the 110 year old Pac 12 will consist of Stanford , Cal , Washington State and Oregon State , and thats it

stick a fork in the Pac 12 , their done

and when I say the end of the Big Ten , they will now have 18 teams , thats it , game over man , thats no longer the Big Ten

with 18 teams , their will probably be teams we'll only play once every three years

Iowa will probably also lose thier three rival games every year , as it's set up , Iowa will play Nebraska , Minnesota and Wisconsin every year , and then rotate the rest , but now with 18 teams , probably can throw those three rival games out the window , we'll be lucky to be able to keep one

if we can't play Minnesota , Nebraska and Wisconsin every year....................I'll be pissed

greatest trophy in all of sports

Obviously all about money and is what it is. I have never liked all this changing of conference thing since it began but whatever.

Just weird as fuck to think that Rutgers at Oregon will be a conference game lol smh.

Wow wtf?

I haven't heard shit any of this.. just a brief talk of what ifs Monday.

Everything shifted yesterday?

Honestly you can’t blame those schools in the Pac10. There is some straight idiots running that origination. The shitty deals they’ve made, continue to make, makes this not even a decision for their big schools.

I’m shocked non of them got canned. SMH

Well it’s about time some of these other schools get into the PAC-10. Namely my alma matter NMSU.

Ps the people running the Big 10 are geniuses. They now have the 4 more huge teams that play in 3 time zones now and they are going to dominate the morning, afternoon, and night with their brand. What’s that going yo do for ad revenue and big games? Hell it’s going to be ridiculous.

It's sad for the Pac 12 but it's simple logistics. In the Eastern and Central time zone you have roughly 48% and 29% of the population. Leaving about 20% in the Pac 12's area. There just isn't the TV eyes or the advertising dollars to compete monetarily. And with College sports being such big business it all comes down to money. Add to that not many people will stay up later on the East coast to watch the Pac 12.

It got pretty crazy starting Thursday evening

well............

actually it started last week when the Pac 12 called a BOR meeting so Pac 12 commissioner George Kliavkoff could finally present their TV deal

which was only about 20 million per school and streaming only on Apple TV , right then , you knew it was over for the Pac 12

right after George Kliavkoff presented the TV deal , Colorado actully got up and left the meeting , refusing to answer any questions , the next day they applied to the Big 12 and was voted in the same day

and you knew Washington and Oregon were never going to sign off on a streaming only TV deal

fast forward a week to thursday night

Arizona' scheduled a BOR meeting for Thursday evening , Arizona's BOR governs both schools

also , Thursay night Washington scheduled their own BOR for 9:00 at night , I mean , who schedules a BOR for 9:00 at night , so you knew something was up

Arizona wanted out and applied for the Big 12 Thursday night , but Arizona State was still hesitant , so they scheduled a emergency Pac 12 Presidents meeting for Friday morning to try one last time to save the Pac 12

the meeting was scheduled for 9:00 AM

neither Oregon or Washington showed up for the BOR meeting, and by 11:00 both had applied to the Big Ten , and both were voted into the Big Ten

Later , Around about 5:00 PM , Arizona , who actually applied to the Big 12 the night before , was voted into the Big 12 , a
couple hours later , around 8:00 PM Arizona State and Utah had applied to the Big 12 and were also voted into the confrence

yesterday was crazy , every time I updated my twitter page something changed

yesterday was definitely a historic day in college sports

not sure what will happen with the remaining Pac 12 schools , Washington State and Oregon State will probably end up in the Mountain West , or some new hybrid of the Pac 12 / Mountain West , Stanford will go independent , not sure what will happen to Cal

there could still be some craziness left

I'm not sure the Big 12 is done yet , Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark still has his eyes on Uconn

Brett Yormark is really pushing that Big 12's real strength is that their the premier confrence for Basketball , the Big 12 has had talks with both Gonzaga and Uconn ,

Gonzaga would be a Basketball only ad , not sure what they would do with Uconn , because their football sucks

who knows , but something to keep an eye on

but the bigger story

Florida State wants out of the ACC , trouble is , their locked in to TV and Grant Of Rights deal until something like 2036

but they want out bad , but it would cost them upwards of 700 Million to get out of those contracts

but Florida State says those Grant Of rights won't stop them from leaving , and it was reported yesterday that Florida State has talked to JP Morgan

so , it's possible that Florida State will take out a loan to get out of the ACC , a HUGE loan

logistics wise it would make sense that they would join the SEC , but all the chatter is that Florida State has thier eyes on the Big Ten

if Florida State want's out for next year , they have to let the ACC know by the 15th of this month

not sure that will ever happen , as Florida State whould have to jump a bunch of legel hurdles , but it sounds like Florida State has been working on this for a while , so if something did happen with Florida State , it could happened quickly , just like yesterday

if Florida State did happen to join the Big Ten , they would need one other school , not sure who that would be , you know the Big Ten wants Notre Dame , but thats not happening

I do believe at some point , the Big ten will go to 20 schools , it just makes scheduling easier

just something else to keep an eye on

Honestly, fuck the Big Twelve (and a big “fuck you” to Colorado especially. They screwed over Mizzou so badly in favor of Texas and Oklahoma that we decided that we had to go to the SEC. Colorado went to the Pac 12 before we went to the SEC. We wanted to go to the Big Ten, but they rejected us in favor of Nebraska, which is fine; we’ve had more success in the SEC than Nebraska’s had in their new conference.

Now the Big Twelve cares about its other members? And Colorado decides to crawl back on their knees and perform fellatio for scraps? Fuck them both.

Whenever the Big 12 comes out with their new logo , they need to put a phoenix in it , we thought the Big 12 was dead , not just once , but twice

first time was when Texas tried to distroy the leauge , we thought then the Big 12 wouldn't survive , and then recently , when Texas and Oklahoma left , we thought once again , the Big 12 wouldn't survive , but here we are two years later ,and not only is the Big 12 surviving , their actually thriving

they'll never compete with the Big Ten and SEC

Today the Big 12 is only the Big 12 in name only , definitely not the Big 12 I grew up with , no Nebraska , no Oklahoma , no Missouri

starting in 2024 , the Big 12 is a completely new leauge , I'm assuming at some point even the name will change , I do know the logo will change

the Big 12 now has 16 schools , only 5 of those schools are still orignal big 12 schools

Brett Yormark has done an amazing job in the last year and a half

the Pac 12's TV contract was coming up before the Big 12's was , but Brett Yormark jumped in front of the Pac 12 , a year early and got the Big 12 a new TV deal , basically the last big TV deal , thats what really killed the Pac 12 , when the Pac 12 tried to get their new TV deal , there was nothing left

The Big 12 now operates a youth clinic at Rucker Park in New York City for local youth in grades six and below. , thats huge news Rucker Park is probably the most famous youth basketball park in the world , and the Big 12 has offically put their stamp on it , it's all about recruiting those kids to the Big 12

starting in 2024 , the Big 12 will start playing games internationally , begining in Mexico , presumably those will be basketball games , not sure about football

Brett Yormark is going to turn the Big 12 into a global brand

the next time the Big 12 starts negotiations for their next TV deal , which is up in 6 years , but you know negotiations will start a year or two before that , don't be surprised that Brett Yormark will devide Football and Basketball into seperate TV deals

The Big 12 could be the first confrence to have a seperate basketball Tv deal

Football is the driving seat of all college sports , but he knows ,come January ,football is over , and for the next three months , it's all about basketball , , and the Big 12 was already the premier leauge in basketball , now they add Arizona ,

I don't know if the Big 12 will add Uconn and Gonzaga or not , I don't know what the odds are 40/60 maybe , if that , but if they did add them , Big 12 basketball would be insane !!!! , and worth alot of money

Brett Yorkmark Really likes Uconn

I don't know if it will happen or not , but don't be surprised that the Big 12 will soon have their basketball only TV contract

College Sports

for beteter or worse , 10 years from now , most of us will look back and say WTF happened to college sports

times , they are a changing

this isn't your fathers Oldsmobile..................lol

one quick note about Florida State

the University of Central Florida now has a better TV deal then both Florida State and Miami

Go Cyclones !!!!!

Iowa did you see the report where the President of the Pac 12 called the President of the Big12 and asked if they'd take the rest of the teams outside of Oregon St. and Wash. St.? lol

Shit is changing like crazy! Interested to see how the basketball works out and I'm not much of a basketball fan!

Yes Sir! It's a little big town tbh and Las Cruces has Grown up to the Mesilla city lines now! My mother and brother still live there while I live in Albuquerque now.

Played there my first years of college before going in the Marines and that football program has fallen on very hard times! having to take games versus Georgia and Alabama and getting wiped for a million or two to pay off a former coach that got fired! lol smh

Yea , I can't really blame the Pac 12 for tryng to help Oregon State and Washington State , their really getting screwed over in this deal , I think Oregon State is even ranked in the top 15 in the preseason coaches poll , no clue what will happen to them after this year , but they'' probably end up losing the Power 5 status , same with Stanford and Cal

I did see something funny yesterday , that Stanford and Cal had talks with the ACC , but doesn't sound like anything came of it , but it was Notre Dame trying to get Stanford and Cal into the ACC , because all other Notre Dame sports are in the ACC , but the ACC told Notre Dame that unless Notre Dame brings thier Football to the ACC , to just shut the

up...................lol

as far as if the Big 12 will expand anymore , Iowa State AD Jamie Pollard was on 365 Sports the other day , and the subject came up , and he said , nope , no mo expansion , a year or so ago , when Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark negotiated their new TV deal with ESPN and Fox , they both agreeded to pain full shares for up to 4 more P5 schools , which they did with Colorado , Arizona , Arizona State , and Utah , so now the Big 12 has used up all their TV money , nothing left to add any more schools

although , I'm still not a 100% out on Gonzaga and Uconn , although very unlikely , Gonzaga would still be a easy fit , Basketball only add , but then , what do you do with Uconn , because they have other sports as well , even though their football sucks , but if Brett Yormark was able to find a way to add Uconn basketball only , and then Gonzaga as well , on the cheap , because they would only get a small share , but if Brett Yormark went to ESPN and Fox and said , we want to add these two school for like 3 million a year , I have a hard time believing ESPN and Fox would turn him down , if the Big 12 could add UConn and Gonzaga , would be insane

but , like I said , thats probably unlikely

funny thing about UConn though , they were really close to joining the Big 12 , when Colorado joined a couple weeks ago , that brought the Big 12 to 13 teams , and you knew the Big 12 wasn't going to stay at 13 schools , Iowa State AD Jamie Pollard talked about how last Friday went down , he said that when he woke up Friday , it started to sound like the the Pac 12 was a atually going to get a deal done and stay together , which then meant , it would have actually been UConn , joining the Big 12 , but later that morning the Pac 12 fell apart , and the rest is history......................lol

P.S.

Has New Mexico State "ever' had a decent team , and jnot ust a good team , but even a decent team , I've alwayd kinda kept a eye on them out of curiosty , they've been pretty bad , I do remember they had a pretty good run at basketball back in the 80's , but I don't hear anything about their basketball team much anymore either

although , I'm still not a 100% out on Gonzaga and Uconn , although very unlikely , Gonzaga would still be a easy fit , Basketball only add , but then , what do you do with Uconn , because they have other sports as well , even though their football sucks , but if Brett Yormark was able to find a way to add Uconn basketball only , and then Gonzaga as well , on the cheap , because they would only get a small share , but if Brett Yormark went to ESPN and Fox and said , we want to add these two school for like 3 million a year , I have a hard time believing ESPN and Fox would turn him down , if the Big 12 could add UConn and Gonzaga , would be insane

but , like I said , thats probably unlikely

funny thing about UConn though , they were really close to joining the Big 12 , when Colorado joined a couple weeks ago , that brought the Big 12 to 13 teams , and you knew the Big 12 wasn't going to stay at 13 schools , Iowa State AD Jamie Pollard talked about how last Friday went down , he said that when he woke up Friday , it started to sound like the the Pac 12 was a atually going to get a deal done and stay together , which then meant , it would have actually been UConn , joining the Big 12 , but later that morning the Pac 12 fell apart , and the rest is history......................lol

I didn't even know this being away from Las Cruces since 2020 but NMSU is in the Conference USA now!

That's good because the Aggies only been good at basketball since the early 2000's and they have win their old division to even sniff the March madness tourney and it's always a placement as a 16 seed and you face a #1 every time. Anyways, they just had a huge scandal so they fucked for players etc. for a while longer now anyways.

As forFootball:
Football. The Aggies won the Sun Bowl in 1959 and 1960 under coach Warren B. Woodson and continued to do well until he was let go in 1967. Since then the Aggies have had only 4 winning seasons and 2 conference championships in 1976 and 1978.

Nothing else! lol

I will say as for my Freshman Season we stomped #22 Arizona States ass! (1999) About the only time I know of the Aggies every doing such a thing! lol

I tried to bring up a Youtube vid but they only have one and it was the but only had the Utah State game for 4 minutes. Anyways one of these centuries I'll have to convert some of those vids and scan some pics showing a few games versus Urlacher.

Anyways, dude it's crazy asf! And I'm glad that Notre Dame got told to stfu! lol I get tired of their big headed bullshit!

It seems Iowa State is a natural fit and with them peaking I'm surprised they haven't made a move yet. Any chance the Mountain West absorbs the rest of the the Pac 10?

Hey! You and me make at least 2 Aggies here!
Hey good to know! lol It's weird, I always run into another Alumni in weird ass places, I was in South America last Dec. and ran into another Alum! lol
