These D threads about lack of are 90% pre-mature...Yes it seemed like we struggled but thats ok. When it got down to it we held and did what we had to do...Barron is rusty give it time relax. Enjoy this win onto the next...

Look that is two weeks in a row we have not good on Defense. I never saw Joyner make a play and was nowhere to be found on the deep balls.
We maybe 5-0 but we can be bounced out of the playoff on some bad turnovers and our Offense can't bail us out. I will say we seem to be strong in the 4th quarter and we did play an exceptionally mobil QB today next week not so much.

Littleton and Barron are playmakers in the open field but they are not good at shedding blocks and clogging holes

Barron was awesome to see. D made some good plays, but the last 3 games, wow. Allowing TONS of points and TONS of yardage. It worries me.
But right now I'm super happy we are 3 games up on the Sheeethawks. Yeah baby.

Sam Shields had some kind of shoulder injury according to NFL.com.

1. Los Angeles Rams wide receivers Brandin Cooks and Cooper Kupp exited early after suffering concussions against the Seattle Seahawks. Cornerback Sam Shields suffered a shoulder injury in the first half. - NFL.com

We got rid of two 1st round draft pick linebackers. It will take a little more effort replacing them.

I said this in the Game Day thread, and I'll say it here. I believe this defense is better suited to play in a 4-3 front instead of a 3-4.

The Rams did pretty well last year because they had Quinn...but he's gone now. Quinn was a hybrid who could go LB or DE. Even so, sometimes he was a liability against the run. As Bonifay says above, Littleton is carrying much of the load for the LBs.

This is a problem the Rams have to address!!!

At least yall are consistent.

We are the best team in the league, 5-0, beat our toughest div rival at their house and the comments are full of worry and complaints.

If you are super worried that we will not go undefeated, you are probably right... and probably miserable.

If you are worrying about whether or not we are a great team, you should start watching other teams.
Any of them.

Nobody is good on Def in 2018.

When the d gives up 30+ points in two straight games you better start worrying. The seafucks have been a laughing stock all year on offense and the rams d made them look like world beaters. An offense run by Brian schotty.

Yeah. I'm worried.

.

Yeah. I'm worried.

Worried about what exactly though?

That we will get beat? That the D cant improve to being top 10?

Yeah, I also wish the D was playing better, but every teams defense seems bad this year.
The Vikes, Jags... everybody is giving up lots of everything, with the same great units from last year.

We do have a good defensive coordinator. We do have enough talent. Chances are it gets better. Maybe it doesn't, but wins are wins and when the D costs us a game, then it seems like a good time to focus on a negative, instead of right after a road win against our divs toughest competition who are now 3 games behind while we are still 1 of 2 undefeated teams.

If there was something really concerning about the D roster or coaching, maybe it would cause me more worry, but right now it doesn't.

It's not two weeks in a row, it's been 3 weeks in a row now. Every competent offense we've seen has shredded us. Yea we've made the occasional play during those games, but they've been dictating terms. Not sure how this isn't cause for concern. And just like last year we can't stop the run AT ALL.

The defense struggled today, but the good thing is they can correct the mistakes. If there was a real lack of effort, I'd be really concerned, but I think it's more about the scheme. Plus not having a true edge rusher hurts because they seem to be double teaming Donald and Suh when they are lined up inside the tackles. One thing that really caught my eye was Suh getting flat backed in the first half on one of seattle's touchdowns. He got caught over-extended and was pancaked. He will see it in film and make sure it doesn't happen again.

I’m not sure they can entirely correct the mistakes.
At least with this scheme and the players they currently have.
I believe the trouble lies with this scheme we are running and the players we have; and that they do not really fit this scheme well. I believe most of the problem lies in the middle of our linebacking corps. However, we may have one or two too many pass rushers in the middle of our line and not enough runs stuffers. JMHO.
