I don't.

I blame McVay.

I think most fans do too.

Well how about blaming the whole team. Today was a team loss. Both lines looked terrible secondary was a joke and I forgot the name of our running back.
Only people who showed up were our WRs

For all those the sky is falling people, Dallas and NFL golden boy Dak put up 10 points on the Saints while our “horrible” offense only put up 27. It’s football, things happen. Team has a lot to improve on but we went 3-1 during the first quarter of the season. Could be worse.
It's also, from what I heard on T.V., the first time in the Drew Brees/Bridgewater era the Saints didn't score a touchdown. This was a crazy weekend.

To make me feel better ... I was started thinking of the Rams in season 2009 ... this 2019 team is better than them.

Good lord I went onto reddit and a couple other forums and I didn't think it was possible but the over reactions there are worse than they are here. I think I'm forever done with GDT's and my posting is going to decrease in a major way. I'm so anti drama I can't handle them.

I think the overreacting is pretty bad, too.

The whole team looked bad. Thank God for short weeks.

Geez there is nothing that can't be fixed. Peters got beat because he reverted once again to guessing and not playing the receiver. Make changes on the right side of the O-line. Change the blocking scheme to gap which is not a huge difference in terms of technique from the zone they already play.

Like I've been saying, outside zone works only if the defense doesn't maintain gap control. That six man front is exactly how you defeat it by simply covering all gaps. Gap blocking is a concept that simply uses the zone blocking technique to create gaps. It's done by leveraging and body position. They have used a version of it when they run inside successfully. They need to scrap the outside zone and use a gap blocking scheme for both inside and outside. Then it doesn't matter how they line up. If the show a 6 man front that works to the offenses advantage as we have seen.
Watch the Hawks Thursday, because they have used it well in their run attack. It's more versatile than an outside zone scheme and is actually a better fit for their play action or running draws.

McVay needs to use his TE's better and more often. Force their safeties out of the box to cover the TE's. Again that will help the run attack.

A change schematically and on the right side of the o-line and IMO the offense will get on track. Defensively, it's time to play David Long and get him up to speed and eventually sit Peters. Today showed they can't trust him to simply play the scheme. I'd rather have a faster but inexperienced CB out there than one that won't play the scheme.

I think Peters may have played himself out of an extension today. His INT doesn't change the fact that his continued lack of discipline is something they can't live with.

Arians always tries harder against the rams. He had some grievance agaiinst us. Maybe because his QBs got hurt against the rams in srizona plus we destroyed them u til Arians left. He always cooks up his best agai st the rams.

I saw the Bortles and McVay comments/threads and had to smile.
Ridiculous.

I am concerend about our O line and have been since Saffold's departure.
Considering that we ran 10-11 times, Goff didn't do so bad... however, he did make some costly errors. Needs to hold that ball better and have awareness.

Was the loss all down to him and the OL?
No.
Goff actually kept us in it.

Our Defence was very disappointing today. The calibre of players that we have it must mostly go down to Wade.
We shouldnt give up 55.

We brought it within 8 points, therefore, the desire to win is there, and we didn't fold.

3-1 now.
By the maths, 12-4 by the end of season. :)

crap happens. I wasn't even upset in this game.

The offense got back on track with the exception of a few fluke plays which happen.

The season is so early to give two shits.

Wade got completely outcoached in this game but I wouldnt trade Wade right now, he generally does a great job and cooks up excellent schemes in the playoffs as well.

Teams lose games vs lesser opponents, it happens weekly and the Bucs have assembled a dangerous squad. I don't see them ever making it far with Winston but they will play spoiler often with the talent they have. Their Oline is strong and their WR weapons are for real.

The Bucs now have some closers on defense as well. Their pass rush is getting dangerous.

I didn't log in yesterday because I knew there would be some ridiculous overblown craziness going on here.

Some of you are sick of McVay? Goff isnt good enough?

Wake up. This game isnt about your fragile ego or your expectations.
Did you think McVay would never get schooled?

McVay has been great and is only dropping to "better than most" during this funk.

Going all hulk smash and giving up on coaches or players or forming your own hair-brained conspiracy theories or even just acting like you have some answer that our team is too stupid to know.....
.......ALL OF THAT is sooo over the top.

We are 4 games in to a season after we reached a damn Super Bowl and some of you want to be the first firebrand to call for big changes...
wow. Chill out. Talk about making this place unbearable. For the past 3 games, THAT WE WON, THE GDT has been miserable. Vent threads after wins. Now you are bringing your frustration problems and outrageous expectations into every damn thread.

Everyone watches enough football to know it’s a roller coaster along the way... Some of us scream more in the hills. :D

This is a good team. We lost.

On to Seattle!

Lol. Bortles to Goff. That doesnt even make sense. Nothing against Blake but that doesnt make sense. There are a couple of things that needs to be changed and refined, I think it is better we are seeing this early so that adjustments could be made. Instead of seeing it at the end and everyone looks like a deer facing the headlight.

I didn't really see it that way. I saw Phillips gets schooled, but you don't put up 40 points in the face of 4 turnovers and get schooled. You will, however, look mortal if your offense has to make up for the Bucs scoring three touchdowns with their first four possessions and then matching every score you make with another one of their own afterward. Yeah, let's just run 30 more times and get a few more 3&outs while the defense continues to let the opposition set a Franchise record in points scored.

Is McVay blameless? Of course not. I think he went into panic mode when down by 3 scores early, but honestly? I would have done the same thing. If we were able to keep the score close, the run game would have made more than just a cameo, IMO.

The o-line was awful, but that's what happens when you have new combinations and new bodies trying to work together and communicate without enough time to do so. That's why the RBs were in pass-block mode so often. They weren't really reeling off chunks of yards on the ground anyway.

The defense? lol. Good job taking away Mike Evans, but there are more players on that team than just Mike Evans. And if you're not getting home with 4, then maybe try 5. Or 6. Or 7. But credit where it's due. Their O-line held their own all game against a pretty damn good pass rushing team.

Goff had a productive (and bad) day. Can't put your defense in a hole like that - and that many times - and expect to employ a balanced attack. Particularly if you're going to give the opponent so many short field situations to feast upon.

And I saw something somewhere about McVay being thankful for the short week like it was a ridiculous thing to say. Well, it's not. It's because they don't have a lot of time to ruminate over the loss and let it get in their heads. You only have time to work and prepare for another game 4 days later. Having something to focus on so early is a little better than having to stew in the disappointment for a few days.

I think this game put a nail in Marcus Peters LA Rams coffin.

Phillips would like to play more press man and he is just not a fit for that scheme.

I look for them to draft a guy and maybe even pursue a FA CB that can play man, before resigning Peters.

Talib also might be cooked at this point. Need to get more aggressive players at that position.

These types of responses are so ridiculous, I'm sick of it. Guess what? Marcus Peters has been better than Jared Goff so far this year. By a LANDSLIDE.

But because some people have this blind love for Goff and blind dislike for Peters, we get responses like this.

If this game put a nail in Marcus Peters' LA Rams coffin, Goff's nail was hammered in a little bit in weeks 1, 2, 3 and 4 this year. He's been a below average QB this year.

Thread winner.

Our society has a tendency to place blame as a percentage, as if there's only 100% to go around.

This game was 100% on the defense, Goff and the OL. All are the reasons we lost. People will try to swing more blame to the OL than Goff, but whether there is pressure or not, no (quality) NFL QB should turn the ball over four times, and have 9 turnovers in 4 games. That's horrific.

I'll give 100% to McVay too, only because he's the leader of this franchise. I can't really say McVay the offensive coordinator did that much wrong. Certainly not as much as Wade the defensive coordinator did.

And that's okay - the defense was better than the offense in the past two games, so this happens.

This game also doesn't mean the Rams are a bad team - we lost at home to the Eagles in similar fashion last year, albeit a lower scoring game.

Also - the Lions, Packers and Cowboys lost too - so only the Niners are undefeated in the NFC now. And all of the Saints, Packers, Cowboys and Seahawks have an NFC loss just like us. Bright side.

When was the last time a QB won a game after throwing 60 passes, let alone dropping back over 70 times.

I am not bashing Peters play as much as i am saying he doesn't fit the scheme they want to play. He is a pure zone CB and today their zone was picked apart.

The defense never stopped them even as the offense kept putting points on the board even without any running game at all.
