I just figured out a concert that I went to on June 23, 1984 called Mountain Aire. The venue was Calaveras County Fairgrounds. It was hot and most people had water spray bottles to keep cool. Bands:
Berlin
REM
Ratt
Huey Lewis and the News
The Cars

It's a remote spot and the acts flew in on helicopters from Reno. Huey Lewis was the headliner with the new "Heart of Rock and Roll," but I thought Berlin and the Cars were better

I saw quite a few concerts the 80's too. One of them was "Monsters of Rock", which was similar to yours. Kinda. It had Kingdom Come, Dokken, Scorpions, Metallica, and Van Halen was the closer. MASSIVE food fight throughout the stadium too - which was kinda awesome. In addition to that, I saw the following in different concerts throughout the decade (in no particular order).

Boston
Ratt
Motley Crue
Ozzy Osbourne
Dio
David Bowie
Neil Young
AC/DC
Charlie Daniels (don't ask)
Ace Frehley
Def Leppard
Whitesnake
Judas Priest
Cinderella

yup, can check all those off my list but add Rush about 10 times, Aerosmith, Doobie Brothers, Bob Seger, Frank Zappa, Journey/Reo Speedwagon ( the future wife bought those tickets, along with Bon Jovi) The Outlaws, Blue Oyster Cult, Genesis, ZZ Top and Kansas. Probably are a few more but cant think of them right now.

Bon Jovi.

I use to think this was much cooler than it really was and I'd tell people this whenever he came up in conversations... unless my wife is around. I dated his ex-girlfriend my 1st two years of college. She wanted to marry me lol.

I was at Live Aid in Philly in 1985, was amazing. Led Zeppelin reunion with Phil Collins on drums after he had played in London earlier in the day. Clapton stole the show with like a 20 minute version of Layla. That was a crazy day, what a different era for sure. Was summer before my senior year in high school and I went with a group of my friends. It was like 95 degrees and we were able to leave the event and head out to the parking lot to drink, sleep, grill and my favorite, bang total strangers. Total hedonism.
In 1986 at Giants Stadium in NJ we had another super concert for Amnesty international. Was on a Sunday in June of my senior year in High School. Our prom was the Friday night prior, we partied all day Saturday and drove to the show that morning and partied all day at that show.
Yeah, the 80's were great to me

Twisted Sister
Iron Maiden twice
Motley Crue twice
Dio
Scorpions with Aerosmith
Cheap Trick
Ozzy
Van Halen
Depeche Mode twice
Red Hot Chili Peppers with Tesla
Metallica with Faith No More
