He's 26, has huge medical issues and is extremely skittish in the pocket to the point where he isn't able to use that good arm at all.
What are we even doing here?
What I am doing here is having a conversation about projecting a QB to the NFL. Does that bother you? Because you seem to be bothered.
"Huge medical issues" is something I do not consider to be an accurate summation of what Shough went through. He broke his collar bone twice. There are rumors the second time it was not fully healed, which happens in sports with that injury. This is far less of an issue than a joint injury. For example I love Rourke but am willing to acknowledge that knee is an issue and will be an issue projecting him to the NFL. It would be accurate to say "huge medical issues" applies to Rourke due to his knee.
The age does not concern me. Shough can win from the pocket. QBs who win from the pocket, where the protections are, tend to have longer careers. If this kid plays until his late 30s I could give a fuck that he's a couple years older.
What irks me is when people act indignant about a differing opinion because they are so used to pouring over mocks by media members who may not be getting the straight story from teams. I guarantee you, based on watching quite a bit of Shough's film, that teams are going to want him in their QB room. This dude isn't gonna last to round 3.
Also and btw... He is not skittish in the pocket. In fact he routinely makes better throws in the face of pressure than most of these other QBs in this class not named Dart. You want skittish check out Ewers.
