When I saw the replays and AB was fiddling with the draw strings on his pants, I really thought he was going to be dropping them and strolling off the field bare assed

Yep ran off on those injured legs or ankles or whatever the fuck he claims was hurting. Probably in any other sport a guy with his history would have killed his career. But in the NFL there is always some desperate GM willing to give away millions to a headcase. I'm not sorry for the Bucs they knew what he is. Now the only thing that would make this whole season complete would be if goatboy and What me Worry? Aaron, would get sidelined on the COVID list during the playoffs.

That last meme is why TB isn't releasing him.

They don't want another team to pick him up, even if it's just to essentially pay for insights into Tampa's offense.

I'd do the same thing. Why give him another chance at a ring and potentially cost yourself one being generous to a player who hasn't been generous to you.

The more they sit back, the more they look reasonable... which with AB isn't hard to do.

I still think he literally needs his head examined because he's had some MASSIVE head shots in his career and we've seen tons of younger guys lose their shit due to CTE. How old was Titus Young? 26 or 27 when we took a look at him for about 30 seconds?

He clearly has CTE. I hate to say it, but we know where that usually leads. Unfortunately I think we hear some bad news about Brown within the next 10 years. He needs to get some help.

This, 100%. Anyone clowning this dude is ignorant and apathetic to the trauma and consequences these players endure playing the game we all enjoy watching.

This video speaks volumes.

Brown has been this way since college. He has always been this way. Does he have CTE? Probably, but there's a huge difference between a Titus Young or a Tre Mason, than a guy like Antonio Brown. Titus Young was not always like this. Tre Mason was not always like this. Brown has always been self-centered, narcissistic, and a world-class jerk.

I have less than zero sympathy for Brown because he has brought a lot of it on himself. He has sexually assaulted women, has refused to pay money to people he hired for jobs, has gotten in trouble with the law, and has acted out against teammates, coaches, and people who are nothing but respectful toward him. I don't have any pleasure in him ending his career in this fashion, but I will not sympathize with such a person.

Brown has had an edge to him, but to suggest his behavior has always been this erratic is being dismissive. Also, how in one paragraph could you possibly suggest he "probably" has CTE, then declare a difference between Brown's erratic behavior and other players'? Surely you don't lack the capacity to understand that no two brains are the same and no two cases of CTE are the same. Your entire post contradicts itself.

Anyone who signs up to play football in the modern era knows the risks involved. Policeman, servicemen, firefighters, etc know the risk involved with their job, too. That doesn't mean we can't be empathetic.

He's had issues since college; that's why he lasted until the sixth round. I'm not just basing this on NFL stuff. And while he probably does have CTE - like probably every player in the NFL has some version of - that's not necessarily mental illness like what Titus Young and Tre Mason have. There is a huge difference between the two.

And you mistook my post on "bringing a lot of it on himself". I didn't mean his NFL career. I meant the off-the-field and on-the-field issues he's had since college. He's burned his bridges.

So forgive me for not being empathetic for a serial abuser, narcissist, and overall douchenozzle. I have zero sympathy for Brown and his jackassery when there are plenty of players I do have - and have had - sympathy for.

I dont understand how you can decide who's ill, and who isnt?
Brown is clearly ill, and is need of help. Its very sad to see this car wreck happening in slow motion.
The difference between Brown and Young/Mason, is that Brown can still play on a high level. The reason his problems have existed for so long is due to the enabling of his issues for others gain. It sickens me how the Brady's, Arians of the world try to act like they care about the person when all they care about is how he can benefit them.
I surely hold Brown accountable for his actions, and detest the behavior he has performed, but it doesnt mean I'm not full of empathy for someone who is clearly mentally ill

People have been enabling Brown since college. He may suffer from CTE, but his overall behavior has been present for most of his life - and from what behavior I see, I lack sympathy. Stiffing people out of the money he owes them doesn't make him mentally ill; it makes him a narcissist. Sexually assaulting women doesn't make him mentally ill; it makes him a tremendous piece of shit.

I agree with you that Brady and Arians only care about how Brown can benefit them and that they enabled his issues for their gain. So did Gruden, Mayock, Bellicheat, Tomlin, Roethlisberger, etc. Brown's actions make them look stupid, so they hide behind the "I hope he gets better" card without really meaning it.

He's nuts. But if he helps team win games, they keep him around.
If he cant? He's gone.
He's a sick f#ck all right, but who is the real problem? He's not able to continue wreaking havoc if folks dont give him chances.
Then they discard him like a piece of garbage.
Its gross
If Mason or Young could play, they'd have been in the league longer, period.
And now if Brown goes on to commit another horrible offense or crime, it will be "what a piece of trash", yet the inevitable is there and nobody gonna help him.
The system created him, enabled him and is now setting him loose
Just awful

If someone is an erratic asshole and gets a disease that causes them to be an erratic asshole, do they really deserve empathy?

If someone has a disease that makes them an erratic asshole? Yeah, I wouldnt wish that on anyone.
On the flip side though, if someone feels no empathy for said individual, how do you feel about the teams/coaches etc who have attempted to put out the fire by pouring gasoline on it?

I don't give empathy on speculation. He hasn't been diagnosed with jack shit yet. He's an asshole until some scientist comes out and says "Antonio Brown is agressive because of an enlargement - medulla oblongata. It's the sector of the brain that controls the aggressive behavor."
