Ankle looked ok hopping around and running off the field after tossing his jersey :D
My thought exactly.

If you can run of the field throwing a hissy fit, you can probably run a route.

I don't buy the mental illness explanation on this one.
I think he's just an entitled personality.

What a weird situation. Obviously, AB has issues. I look forward to getting more information on the ankle. He was told to leave and he did. He may need some physiological help. He didn't hurt anyone so no big deal.

Yes but his poor mental health could have led to him misdiagnosing his own injury status. Brown is the victim here clearly.

Having a mental illness doesn’t mean you are a victim - it’s just perspective. I get that many of you have your opinions and that’s fine - but from this angle some of these takes look like mocking someone for being injured - it’s not a great look. You can hate the guy - you can always have hated him - such is the nature of entertainment. And no - I don’t know his diagnosis or any more than you do.

But, I have seen mental illness - in many variations. It doesn’t always present in the ways you may expect. A little compassion doesn’t hurt.

Way I look at it is what's the harm in letting folks point and say "look at the funny man." In this instance, this being a Rams board, there's nothing wrong with having a good laugh at this idiot's behavior.

But no. Because here comes Johnny Fucking PC Warrior posts citing how he might be sick and all that BS.

Sure he probably has some kind of something with a fancy word attached to it. But since none of us treat him nor are privy to all that why not let folks just have a fucking laugh at the dude.

Antonio Brown's mental health isn't something we have a clear picture on because we don't have access to that stuff.

What we *know* is that he has access to the best health and mental healthcare in the world and choosing to participate in that is still a decision, unless you are disassociated from reality.
He's also committed several crimes.

We can have compassion, but we can also fairly hold individuals accountable in this kind of situation, in my opinion.

Honestly, I don't have problems with PC Warrior stuff. I suffer from a battery of mental illnesses myself (if you're curious, high-functioning autism, depression, bipolar, and symptoms of schizophrenia.), and I normally am...well, not necessarily in agreement with folks.

But unlike Mason and Young, I have no sympathy for Brown. Brown has been an asshole for a very long time; even if Burfict never made that hit. The way he treats people underneath him (the massage therapist he raped, the specialists he refused to pay, etc., etc., and so forth) is disgusting behavior that has no place in our society.

Young and Mason were legitimately ill and needed help. Brown is a fucking attention-seeking fuckwad who only cares about himself.

Nor do I believe that we need to chalk it up to Mental Illness, every time a star athlete throws a "look at me" hissy fit.

Brown has been a diva, in every sense of the definition, his entire career.
He's one of the best athletes the NFL has seen and I have no doubt he's been coddled his entire life, due his his athletic talent.

Brown is an adult. He makes his own decisions.

I don’t disagree with most of that. I don’t have any fondness for the guy - I just think that our world (not anyone in particular just generally) has a pretty crappy outlook on mental illness. People act like the mentally ill should just - overcome it. AB certainty isn’t the poster child I want on this campaign, but often, the mentally ill are somewhat unlikeable. For me, where I used to get frustrated, now I try to find compassion. If that makes me a PC Warrior, I can live with that. I’ve been called worse.

Yes let's make that assumption so we can let him off the hook for being a self centered fuckhead.
Who's letting him off the hook?

And more importantly, what the hell is going on with this board rn? The tone is really uncool.

Disagree with me all you want, but what the hell? Whatever happened to "respectfully disagree"?

All I was saying is that his actions seem consistent with CTE as opposed to be an idiot. Doesn't mean that those actions aren't idiotic or self harming without apparent reason, but it looks to be serious.

I don't get all this agro stuff in the middle of an amazing season. It's not okay anytime, but good grief.

Still love ya brother, even though I think this comment was way out of line (as it makes inferences I never made).

here is the honest conclusion about this debate you guys are having.

None of you really know him - so if he is crazy or just a fuckwad

all just conjecture.

Because it perpetuates an environment where men don't tend to their mental health prior to suicide and that's beyond unhealthy.

I'm tired of the "it's just a joke" crowd using every single chance at change as an opportunity for derision.

Not everything is a damn joke.

It's also possible that AB was an asshole AND has suffered significant brain damage (that Burfict hit HAD to level some kind of brain damage...100%).

Maybe I'm biased. Maybe as a disabled vet, I've been on the other end of some bullshit that "was just a joke" and watched brother veterans battle because someone just had to have a cheap laugh at their expense.

So, maybe if you don't know his treatment as opposed to dismissing the "fancy word" which is a poor euphemism for "legitimate diagnosis", we could use some patience, understanding and humility.

To paraphrase Dean Wormer: Memes are funny, but they're no way to go through life, son.
