Kind of a funny reaction here in Jets territory. Granted fans opinions don’t mean much, (if anything) but the overwhelming majority opinion I hear is that Suh is a wasted pickup, that he won’t help much and that they would rather he go elsewhere.
Kind of surprised.
That and in order to free up some additional space, rumors are swirling that Kearse may get released.

Someone was saying that his friend was with him and his friend tagged himself as being in Irvine, so if you wanna hold onto that you can. I don't really get it, Irvine is kind of far and there's not much to do there, but if you're digging through the poop, there's at least something.

I’m guessing the Rams offer is low for Suh’s liking. This would leave Suh to hesitate. This ultimately may be the reason we don’t get him signed. And I’m OK with this. Better than overpaying the man. JMHO

Leonard Williams, Steve McLendon, Deon Simon, Claude Pelon

What's next? Maccagnan said recently the defensive line isn't a priority area. Oh no? The Jets have only four players under contract, and two of them might not make the team. You bet it's a priority. Kony Ealy and Mike Pennel are free agents. The Jets are interested in re-signing Pennel, but he's strictly a rotational player. This is the biggest need on the team.

The article suggest the Jets still have holes and depth issues in many other areas. I don't know but, I don't see Suh putting them over the top so to speak. They could get more mileage out of a few less expensive moves. That could be what the fans are thinking.

They were surprisingly competitive last year and were 10-6 just a couple of seasons back. They’ve made some upgrades with FA and will be drafting their “franchise qb”. They have a lot to be positive about. I’m just surprised that there isn’t more appreciation.

He's not in it for the money alone, sure if he can have both he'll take it but with current options and hearing our pitch there was zero point of going to talk to a team that can't win or pay the high dollar.

Giving the impression that you would consider going to other teams might convince the Rams to sign you.
You could still go to the Rams but you might make more money in the long run if they thought you may go somewhere else and they really want you.

Leverage is a big part of negotiations.
Even if it's just leverage to convince a team to pay you more or pay you sooner.

A number of sports figures really love Newport Beach which is directly west of Irvine. Lots of support for wealthy folks (high end auto dealerships, restaurants, etc) Kobe lives there.
