My gut is telling me they're not gonna get Suh. I have a feeling when it comes down to it he'll take the money. Titans are in a better position to offer more.

That doesn’t sound good.
Sounds like they aren’t close...

Or it means, Tenn is going to make a silly offer and they want the Rams to come closer. My fear is Tenn is going to offer just enough so LA can not match or make look comparable, like 15M. My gut says Suh wants to come to LA, but the NFLPA and others will force him to Tenn because of an offer the Rams cant get too. Base this on no facts, just a gut feeling lol.

I don’t think the nflpa will be concerned with the free agent deals that have been done this year. It’s all about the money, if Tennessee offers more, they’ll get him.
It’s only 1 persons opinion and who knows if he knows anything. The whole “trying their best” doesn’t sound too good to me. Sounds like they know they are not in ball park

"Rams are trying their best" ... FOLLOWED BY... "Other teams are in the mix as well"... sounds like the 'other teams' are further away.

I don’t think Suh is worth overpaying for. We have other needs. If we land him great, if not..... move on.

Sounds to me like if we get him it won't be because we outbid the others. My guess now though is that he goes to the Titans for about 5 mil more than we were able to offer him. Problem for them is that I don't think he makes them a SB contender but I think he helps us become a favorite to win it.

The NFLPA can't force Suh to do anything. If Suh chooses to go elsewhere for more dough, it was his call imo.

How close do the Rams have to be to the Titans offer for him to go with the Rams.

1 Million a year?
2 Million a year?

How much more will the Titans offer?

We'll probably find a way to pay him 10-12M. Titans will offer around $15M...

If it's that close, the Rams might offer more of an appeal to Suh.

OK - The suspense is killing me! Are the rumors (Hopefully, Just Rumors!) that Tennessee will probably win out on the Suh sweepstakes true? I would really like to see the Rams get him signed! I think with the addition of Suh the Rams Defense would be one of the best Defenses in the NFL (If not The Best!) and with Goff, Gurley, Woods, Kupp and Company I think the Offense would provide more than enough points to make the Rams a true Superbowl contender!

Or shorten the deal.

He just turned 31 in Jan. I'm thinking he wants three years for the money and then decide to retire or not. This is his last really big payday. I think he want longer terms. Just my guess. I don't think he wants to keep changing teams at this stage of his career.

Case for Suh signing with Rams: Suh seemingly has a chance to be a part of something special with the Rams. He can join the same defensive line as Aaron Donald, forming what might be the greatest pairing of interior defenders in NFL history. Suh, Donald and Michael Brockers would create unrelenting pressure on opposing quarterbacks, and a star-studded secondary -- featuring Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters and Lamarcus Joyner -- can manufacture constant turnovers.

It would all be overseen by Wade Phillips, one of the game's most celebrated defensive coordinators. The offense, which helped the Rams lead the NFL in points last season, is led by one of the game's sharpest minds -- 32-year-old coach Sean McVay. In short: Suh has a legitimate chance to win a championship in L.A., something he hasn't come close to in prior stops.

Case against Suh signing with Rams: The Rams offer a clunky scheme fit. Suh has spent the vast majority of his career lining up as a left defensive tackle, specifically as a 3-technique, between the opposing tackle and guard. But that's the space Donald occupies for the Rams. So Suh would probably have to play nose tackle. He would also be transitioning from a 4-3 to a 3-4, though Phillips' 3-4 has 4-3 principles in that it is still a one-gap penetrating front.

But the biggest deterrent, as is usually the case, might be money. The Rams wouldn't be paying Suh top dollar. They have somewhere in the neighborhood of $25 million remaining in cap space if you account for their draft pool, but they have to set aside space to potentially make Donald the game's highest-paid defensive player. Suh might have to take a pay cut.

What’s not being accounted for is the increase in potential revenue after Suh wins a ring with us. With Tenn, he’d be in the playoffs. With us, he’s likely a champ with a ring and ask plenty of borderline HoF guys who never won a ring if that ring wouldn’t seriously increase their ability to earn post NFL.

$3M is nothing compared to the lifetime differential in earning possibilities as a “ring bearer”

Content at first to stay in the background regarding this topic, I now stake my claim in this thread. Being indifferent, I still have no educated response, comment, or opinion about the proposed signing of the guy we used to hate. I just wanna be in the thread and profess my future pending love to this pending Ram.

I still would prefer Hankins as I think overall he’d be better for the Rams long term and likely cheaper. That said if we sign Suh I’m definitely not complaining.
