Studs - the usuals - AD, Kupp, Bobby Wagner, Ramsey
Hill was strong
The Rams Defense against the run was very stout.

Duds - king dud Evans needs to be fired

STs yes special teams they constantly let TBs return guy have 5-15 on returns, Dixon never punted high enough to get fair catches so there was always a return. The hold negating a 41 yard nice Powell run back of a punt.

McVays last drive play calling. He worried about getting TB to use their time outs instead of getting a first down with a clever throw especially when TB knew we would run. Absolutely horrific.
The OL never gave Stafford VA clean pocket. Nor RBs holes to run through.

Kendricks is not ready to start.
The overall play calling on Offense/soft coverage on Defense. No TEs at all. I could go on.

5. Route combinations. So many instances of teams sitting on our route combos. This might be the side effect of McVay saturating this league with his coaching offspring. All slimy and brainy and spawning anti-Rams cells in the NFL macroorganism.

6. Power. As in we have none. We get outmuscled on the line, in space, in the backfield, on the sideline, probably in the parking lot too. How is Coach not beyond tired of this.

#6 would be a great zag to the zig of #5. Building a nice power run game when the rest of the NFL is setting up defenses to stop our decidedly non-power attack might open some things up for us. Mind you, I'm not suggesting we go full Chuck Knox or anything, but having that element and being able to use the power run attack - and important, willing to use it - would probably catch a lot of teams off guard. And being able to use a power game also wears down the D and takes some of the edge off their pass rush when you do decide to throw.

Obviously too late to do it this season, but it would be nice if McVay took a look at it in the offseason and started building an OL and bringing in RBs accordingly.

Also, I wouldn't call him a stud but Henderson had some really nice runs that were overshadowed by the rest of the shitfest that happened on offense. I wish we'd give up on the weird RB rotation thing and had just given him the ball the whole game.
Hes not a stud, or hasn't been given reps to show that at this point, but, he is clearly the best back on the Rams.
He also good in pass pro.
Give Brown zero reps, give Akers a few carries and the rest, say 80%, of the RB reps need to go to Henderson.

I grabbed 2 screen shots during the game of missed opportunities.

Both were completions, but both we missed a wide open A Robinson to the left for potentially bigger plays.

This was the tight completion to Jefferson:

This was the completion to Kupp, Stafford’s first read was Robinson, but he quickly moved to Kupp.

I noticed that second on the replay of the game, they were both open but Robinson might well score on that play.....no idea why he went away from him on that one.

I don't buy this premise....but, lets say this is true....how exactly do the Rams land this future QB talent?
That's the future for us exactly. Is that something coach is up for. Lamar Jackson? I'm pretty sure we won't be seeing a superbowl in the next few years. It was 19 yrs? After we won our 1st. Let's hope in year 3 from now we are back. Big mess here right now.

I understand that the league is built for parity however.....Ram fans seem to get the short end.
In 1999 it looked the Rams were poised for a 10 year run and a possible dynasty....naw, we got a few years of high level competition, undone by the paranoid nonsense of our head coach.
Here we are again....a fantastic Super Bowl win and talk about multiple titles....and now it seems like the team is lost.
We will have to see, assuming we don't make the playoffs at this point, how the rest of the year goes.

Thanks, McVay/Carberry for providing Buc's fans great enjoyment & also would like to give both of you a high five on your outstanding assessment of quality NFL OL'ers.

That last one was just fucking brutal. Pitiful effort. He mad a little contact and just let him go and then stood around looking for somebody. I know Vita Vea is a good player, but Evans made him look far better than he is.

When McVay sees that on film, if he still trots out Bobby Evans again, he's committing serious coaching malpractice.

Just shell shock imo. Dude has no faith he isn't going to get plowed over every snap.
And that's the only thing wrong with Matt Stafford.

And once he has confidence in the pass blocking of his offensive line and gets a little help from the run game, he's going to be just fine again.

Exactly. Stafford has played behind some good and some bad offensive lines over his career.

I think there is hope. I’d like to see the Rams move the pocket and hammer misdirection every play. Screw anything straight ahead. We give too many of those plays away.
