Evans hasn't proven that he can play left tackle in the NFL, though. He played okay at right tackle, but had a bit of help and struggled at a fair few times, even when helped. He'd struggle even more at left tackle playing on an island. Personally, I love Evans at guard. I think Noteboom, now that he's healthy, gets the swing tackle job.

It all depends on how Havenstein plays, though - and as I stated in another thread, he's arguably the most important key to this season on this team. If he's the Havenstein of old, we're going to have an absolutely fantastic year. If he's out of shape and injured like last year though...it's going to be really hard to have a winning record.

Just still wondering about Noteboom’s health. He was not walking as of 6 months ago. In my mind there is no way he is ready that fast ?? Hard to say without looking at drills & no info from the player.
The Rams should have him interviewed since he was the top draft pick from 2017 draft. Plus a starter last season before his injury.

Sorry i keep saying the same thing, but... Rams didn't plug the hole at C. Not in the draft or F/A. Blythe is a 2nd stringer on any other team. And right now he's the best we got.
I have serious concerns about C. I hope Blythe proves me wrong.

I think Austin Blythe will prove you wrong Big Time !! He says he is ready to take on the challenge & CENTER is his position.
I hated Austin Blythe at RG. As he says himself that he is to small & Center fits him better.

Jared Goff has confidence in him as well. That will help. It only takes one mistake, but I like the way Austin Blythe picks up the delayed blitz. Gives Goff extra time to look deeper down field,or on his reads ??

Why the eye roll? It's not like Corbett hasn't played center well in the past; that's why he was drafted so highly by Cleveland. We should be cross-training our prospects, Corbett, Anchrum, Evans, and Edwards included.

We cannot, I repeat, cannot afford to sit back and say that 2019 was fine for our offensive line. If Havenstein is injured or ineffective, we'll put Evans in at right tackle and go for Blythe at center and switch Corbett to left guard, but if that happens, our season is pretty much shot.

I get that the coaches like Blythe and paid him as they would a starter. I personally don't think it's a good idea.

Well sometimes the Guys Getting Paid to Make those choices Make those Choices. Thank the Sky(clouds).

Nice we have thoughts. I’m just glad The Rams have a solid Offensive Line Coach in Kromer. Zak & Dickerson have been together since McSnead day 1.

Then again who knows what happens in 2020 ?? It has been a crazy year. You ask me if I would be wearing a mask for the last 6 months ?? I’d say you a FREAKIN Crazy. Now I’d just say your a good Ram Fan that expects winning.

I can't speak for him but to your comment and why I laughed at another one it's a common theme around here. Rams fans don't trust their coaching staff even McVay. People around here know better than the coaches what should happen. Occasionally a fan will prove right but with so many statements on how things should be done it's little better than pinning the tail on the donkey :D They're not perfect and they're not right but you'd think they were never right with how often fans tell us they know better.

Well I go back to Todd Gurley. There was something wrong & needed change. Blaming the Offensive Line is not what The Rams coaching staff did.

Going out & freaking out about 2 22 year old rookies starting & holding there own was not what they did.In FACT Edwards is The Rams Starting RG. He had never played the position in his whole playing career from Youth Up. He was Learning OT & OG in the preseason at The NFL level. Edwards was a 2nd RD prospect in 2016 before his Injury. Now going into 2020 he has 9 games of NFL starting experience at 23 ?? I’d say MCSnead scored HUGE !!!

Greedy Rams Fans sometimes don’t see the Big Picture. I’ve asked we’re Edwards & Evans would’ve been drafted in 2020 coming out from there Senior Years.

Evans ?? He is not even starting, but his experience is better than anything The Rams has going into 2019 last season.
Add Corbett who was actually a Early 2nd rd pick & he is going into his first training camp with The Rams. I’m sort of excited to see how good this guy plays next to Whitworth & Blythe?? They did get some good NFL experience next to each other in 2019. I believe they can build a better foundation together.

Big Rob Havenstien looks more fit than he did in 2019 already. He has a lot of Wisconsin Pride & gets to play next to another ex Badger.

Kromer has less responsibilities & has a OC that wants play run a certain way. Kromer Prides himself on teaching young Men !!!
Kolone,Demby,Allen, & Noteboom all came from the same draft class of 2018. This is there 3rd year in The NFL. It has always been said that that is the amount of time to know how good a player can be ??

Your right in your views & respect you as The #1 Poster . Major Credit !!

So I guess last year when Allen went down, Blythe was the #6 Center?

I didn't know they put you in charge of the depth chart. :)

Dude. Corbett knows the snap count and blocking schemes as well as any of the starters.
I don't agree that that he was marginal last year.
Especially when you consider he didn't even go through camp with us or get starters snaps until Noteboom went down.
Yet he came in and did well enough to now be the starter at LG, (just like I predicted by the way) :)
He was a former second-round pick and almost a first-rounder.

Sliding a starting guard over to Center is as old as the hills, especially when that player has already played center in college.

I will be surprised if Allen even makes the team, honestly.

They're, more than likely, only going to bring 2 reserve game-day active offensive lineman to the game.
Evans will be one is he can play guard or tackle.
I am thinking Shelton will be the other one early in the season and Noteboom later on when he heals up.

The Rams are talking about Cam Akers at QB as well. The team would probably go more Wild Cat for a Game !! Just like The Rams had Norman Cromwell as a Back-Up QB if you want to go back a couple years ??

I don’t see Corbett being the Starting Center for The Rams though ?? Will see how right you are & your prediction.

What kind of odds do you want for Rod Credit ?? We can Wager on that one. Say 3-1 Odds ???

-The Wager would be that Austin Corbett does not start a game at Center in 2020 ??
-For every Rod dollar bet you would get 3 Rod Dollars back if he does.

- If he plays a game at Center it does not count unless he Starts though.

Having two younger much more athletic, much better potential pass blocking abilities & considerable low cost OT's like Joseph Noteboom & Bobby Evans will certainly place some serious high intensity fire up the Havenstein posterior. Both are capable of bringing out the best 2018 version of Hav! Having a nearly healthy Noteboom participating in team practices is awesome news especially after the negative Chandler Brewer news.

With a healthy Noteboom ready to take up the majority of practice snaps & also spell & provide brief rest periods during regular season games for the overly well seasoned but still an effective pass protector Whitworth is the best scenario for the LT post in 2020.

With center Brian Allen being now a reserve OL'er will certainly force him to sense the magnitude of his position in this new 2020 OL. Allen must demonstrate good ability to play all three interior positions. He will face real for the first time fresh competition from Coleman Shelton, Jeremiah Kolone & Jamil Demby all entering their 3rd seasons too. Then there's two brand-new competitors with OG/RT Tremayne Anchrum & interior OL'er Cohl Cabral.

The 6-5/305 UDFA Cohl Cabral is an interesting new prospect who started two seasons @ Arizona State before being moved (by need) to the starting center post for the rest of the 2019 season.

Hi Bonified. So is there a preseason & Allen & Noteboom are going to start those games ??

Funny the difference a Year makes !!

LMAO - would have never think it. Still don’t have Faith in Notebooms health though ?? I do need to work on my inner self though. Just PUMPED UP for 2020!!! Might get a little GEEKED???

I stick to The Way I see things. Sorry if I’m to much with my posting ??? Don’t mean to Offend Anyone in a Negative Way.

Wishing Ram Fans a Kick Butt 2020 Season !!

I can see Boom being penciled in if Whit's not avail--not sure about RT? I definitely hope his days at G are done.
I agree. I have some issues understanding members here seeing Evans as the #6 OL'er when you have a pure OT like Joseph Noteboom here practicing. This news is one big upgrade over Evans as the swing OT. As a firm believer in Noteboom if he is playing either LT or RT & do not see Evans being assigned the "Swing OT #6 OL position this season if Noteboom is healthy. Evans does not possess NFL Left Tackle skills & abilities.

Good Morning So Ram....no ideal on preseason or what the NFL will do :zany:.....seems like the NFL & its players are doing it's very best to cause a divorce between them & I after more than half century love affair!

However, I do like the expanded & rule changes made to the 2020 Practice Squads. Glad you are happy about NFL & the players 2020, but I am trending fast towards .....couldn't care less:(.

Sad your not into The Rams 2020.I’ve been a Ram Fan so long it would be hard not at this point. This new stadium is awesome.

I don’t understand the Noteboom thing at all ? I’d have trend on Evans improve & not putting limits on his upside at this point. I think if he puts in the work & gets more aggressive
who knows how good he can be.

First man off the bench I would think.
This is why I think they should cross-train Corbett at Center.

If Blythe is injured they could slide him over and put EVANS in at left guard.
@So Ram
I meant to say Evans above and not Edwards.

In my scenario, if Blythe was injured I would definitely keep Edwards at Right Guard can insert EVANS.

Interesting - I guess I’m sort of clueless on this front ?? I think Corbett & Edwards are a couple of nice young guards. I would keep both in place.

I believe The Rams are trying to find a Center for the future. Who knows what Austin Blythe’s future with The Rams will be ?? I do like his leadership ever since he has joined The Rams. He has been an overachiever. Would have never thought he could hold his own at guard for so long. I wasn’t a thing of beauty for sure.He did hold up & Center as he says is his postition.

Noteboom & Allen have never proved how good of a NFL player they can become. Noteboom looked like a Natural LT though. His injury is still a big Question Mark in my view. Coming back sooner than a year does not seem realistic??

Thanks for the post back

Wow - total surprise Noteboom is back this soon. He said he wasn’t even walking at the beginning of the year.

Now I see on NFL net that Goff was taking a few snaps from Brian Allen.
