McVay has mentioned in a past season, maybe 2018, that he writes up a list of plays to string together if everything goes as planned for each one. At the time, he was talking about how he didn't have to stop reading from that list until the second half of whatever game it was. It's similar to a script, except that as soon as a play doesn't go as expected he jumps off the list into his situational lists. As long as things are progressing as designed, he reads from the list. Or that was what he said 1-3 years ago.Actually, it was mentioned in a game that he does script the first 15 plays. Not sure if it’s accurate or not.
