6th ranked QB in the league in his first handful of games in a new system. I'd call that one hell of a good start.

People need to get off his nuts tbh. He's playing well, our team is 4-1, and his best days at QB for us are undoubtedly ahead. Unless the desire to be right about the trade being a mistake is so powerful that it can't be overcome. For those posters nothing will shut them up anyway so it really doesn't matter.

But watch some other "elite" QBs. They're not converting every third down. They're not driving for TDs every time. Rodgers got his balls kicked up his throat in game one. Brady missed open options vs our defense. And so on. If you allow yourself to enjoy this period while he settles in you'll probably enjoy being a fan a thousand times more than hoping he'll fuck up so you can take victory laps on the board. Because those don't really do much to make you feel good, not like winning does.

Yeah he should be throwing for 500+ yds a game, 5 TDs and winning player of the week every week for what we gave up. :not: :not: :not: :not:

I just think he is too amped up at the start of the game. If you notice, a lot of his passes 10-20 yards downfield are sailing high or way out in front on the receivers.

He feels the accolades and the expectations everyone is laying on him

Watching the game finally, my dive did not pick up the first drive for some reason.

The rest of the first quarter there was 1 throw where Jefferson broke of his route and Stafford threw the ball as if he expected him to keep going, he had the defender beat.

Other than that every throw that quarter was on the money. Jackson did not catch one, Higbey gave up a sack on a play that looked like they were going deep.

Unless Stafford was off that first series, he did not start slow in the Seattle game.

Just before the interception in the end zone which was terrible, he put the ball right in Jefferson’s hands about the three and he didn’t catch it. Obviously would have changed the series and most likely the int doesn’t happen.

Next series deep ball to Jefferson is out front just slightly too long, not underthrown. 5 yard dart to Kupp. Delay of game. And a give up by McVay running the ball on 3rd and 10 from mid-field.

After hags score

Completion to Woods
Completion to Kupp
Completion to Michel
Completion to Woods

Edwards gets driven into the back field, they get stopped on 3rd and 1 and have to settle for 3.

Hey what if the Rams talk to Holmes about trading Stafford to them for Goff?

Some people don't know when things are good.

Actually, if Detroit had a defense they'd have some wins. With 4 first-round picks in the next two years Holmes can make that team competitive fast. OL and defense Brad, that's what you need.

I'm not concerned with any aspect of his game just 5 games into his time in this offense. I mean, if it were 4 years in this offense and he was sporadically ineffective and making blunders i'd probably trade him.

So far through 5 games he's 117 - 172 68% 1587yds 12tds 3int 113.2rtg
which projects to over 5k yds 38tds 10int
Rams are 4 - 1
Not sure how much better we can expect him to be. Every QB misses open receivers sometimes. Seems like expectations are becoming unrealistic.

Some fans are often more comfortable looking at the flaws of their team and/or players regardless of the big picture reality.

Sort of like having a hot and outstanding girlfriend but after awhile you decide her knees are too bony and that beauty mark looks like a giant pimple.

I don't think he does.

Could be wrong but I do not recall an announcer ever making that comment with regard to McVay and the Rams.
Actually, it was mentioned in a game that he does script the first 15 plays. Not sure if it’s accurate or not.

Walsh did the same thing, so McVay being from that tree in more ways than one, it would not surprise me.

Kurt breaks down Stafford issues and how he’ll only get better.

Yeah, I recommend some on here watching this twice as it explains why some of those throws were off (Hint: Not Stafford's fault) and also goes into what he can get better at. I was a lot more worried about a couple of his throws before seeing this. Time and timing will correct the little bit that has been off. Kurt did a great job with this....however, some will still wring their hands and pine for the "good ol' days".

Lots of posters put out lots of hype and expectations for Stafford which probably no one could entirely live up to. So now we're shocked to discover that he isn't quite perfect.

One thing I like about Stafford is that he has never added to the hype. He's all about doing his job.

Stafford should get more dialed in as he gets more time with the receivers and in the system.
