I have not been watching the game but can someone tell me if Stafford is really playing that BAD or is it other players (Receivers, OL, etc) making him look that BAD???

Combo of both. Really bad play combined with lots of drops. Beckham not up to speed on playbook and trying to replace woods with someone clearly inferior. All those things proved to be too much.

2nd INT wasn't his fault, Higs dropped it. But he could have had a couple more. Just not a good game by Stafford, or almost anyone on the team. McVay only coaches well in early morning games it seems.

Not Stafford's fault but it is the nature of the offense. Trick/gadget plays always seem to have more turnovers. Who runs a screen to the TE? Nobody except us. That stuff belongs at the college level.

I said this after the trade and I was mocked.

His play tonight was on brand. He is Phillip Rivers. A stat compiler that will never win a ring.

What about McVay? He is given a #1 overall pick at QB and can't do anything with him.
Then why do so many people who know a lot about football say he's top 5 arm talent in the league

McVay needs to establish the run early and often to open up play action moving forward. Offense is to predictable IMO

He escapes and throws a 5 yard loss to Henderson thow it in the ground.

The overthrows, the throw behind the receivers, the deep shot to OBJ where he can clearly see 2 DBs back there.

We are down by 17 and he is throwing 2 yard outs. Really bad decision making.

Last week against Tennessee, the throw out of the end zone was another bad mental decision. Just throw it at the ground not in the air. The Woods throw was nowhere open how do you not see that. He was covered it wasn't even a good play on the ball by the DB it was another bad mental decision.

I am seriously worried that he doesn't have the mental makeup to lead us to the SB. I am really serious. The goal is to make the fewest mistakes he seems to panic a little. It's not McVay McVay didn't overthrow Skoronick in the end zone who was open, he overthrew Skoronick over the middle and it was almost picked. I could go on and on.

If he was so good and such a savior he would have lead Detroit to more playoff appearances. Rivers did, Brees did etc. These are QBs with huge resumes like Stafford but they are more poised and don't make these type of mistakes.

I made the same statement when he was acquired. I was open minded and hopeful, but after the last two games he really is long term scaring me. Hope I am wrong he is too streaky and not a winner imo. I don't care how many come from behind wins he has he has no playoff wins.

I believe it is a panic mentality. Not a winner mentality.

What I don't want is the defenders to blindly defend him. We beat really bad teams every team we beat minus TB none are making the playoffs most likely. AZ, Tenn and SF destroyed us doesn't this honestly worry you? Try to take this take seriously and think about this take. I am not sure I'm right, but I am throwing this out there

I honestly don't know who he is. The past 2 games have shown that he's not the QB I thought he was. Hope this is just a blip but I have serious doubts.

Exactly.

Stafford and the receivers both were bad tonight. But McVay has no patience, and certainly not enough to establish the run. With a few exceptions (like the Pats game) he hasn't had it, and it's leading to preventable losses.

Calling him stupid is unfairly harsh. He's an intelligent player. He just might not be the savior we thought he could be. The rest of the team can't handle being pushed around. Receivers were thrown off their game with drops you haven't seen much of till the last couple games. The defense can't stop a ball control offense from moving the chains and controlling the clock. Its happened twice in a row now. Its not all on Stafford.

Stafford is a streaky QB and has been that way, There is no secret there. But he is still by far better than Goff.

We got Jared Goff 2.0 with Stafford except Stafford is on more than Goff.
