it's complicated - McVay and Goff did have a bromance in the beginning, but they grew apart.

Stafford is not a pretty all the time QB for sure. Stafford will make mistakes. But he is also a clutch mofo.

Goff the last two years has played better without a doubt.

But we don't win the Superbowl with Goff - Goff isn't throwing a 25 yard no look pass to a cup to overcome an offense decimated at the skill positions in the Super Bowl.
cooper dont call him cup!

Similar circumstances but different as well, Goff was very young when he went to the SB and I don’t know how good McVay is at developing qbs. Stafford had been in the league a long time when he finally got there.
McVay did get schooled against Bill but there were a couple opportunities and Goff didn’t make the throws plain and simple. Stafford saved the rams bacon several times in the SB run, he’s got a “don’t worry I got this,” swag and they rode it all the way to the title. Goff is more the silent assassin, never giving away what he’s thinking.
McVay didn’t have the kind of bromance with Goff that he has with Stafford and I think he was scapegoated, but he wasn’t great the year after the SB. Sometimes 2 good people aren’t good together.
I think the Rams wanted to win a Super Bowl and knew they needed to raise the level of QB play to get there.

Goff showed once again today that if he's forced to force the issue bad things happen. He can't make something out of nothing.

He had an issue with fumbling in LA that hadn’t shown up till recently in Detroit. He’s the same guy, the good parts and the bad. He can slice you up with the play action game but muddy up the pocket and ball security becomes a problem. Make him play in shotgun and he’s not as effective.

That sums it up perfectly for me. Loved good JG, but derpy JG drove me bananas. For the record, I feel pretty much the exact same way about Stafford.

The difference between their overall play is not as great as I would prefer, but it was enough to get the Rams more hardware.

It's a totally different situation too. Goff the young guy, got criticized by McVay and couldn't take it. Stafford is probably immune to that and in addition, McVay probably less prone to criticizing him.

this post is filled with people I haven't seen post for awhile.

I'll keep it to myself - but I have some descriptive words for such fans in my mind.
