Kinda slow around here now that we got the good news.

Which do you guys prefer-- the drama and anxiety and excitement of the negotiation... or the relative boredom of knowing it's been successfully resolved?

Man, I miss football season already....
Don't worry the new league year will be here very soon and we'll have tons of complaints about the Rams not signing peoples favorite free agents :D

The bolded is what I'm responding to obviously.

I'd prefer to know the numbers. It's not that it matters to me really. I'm just curious. Kinda want to see if he left money on the table. the structure, etc...

Otherwise, this time of the year blows. I suppose in some way, the whole Stafford/AJ situations made for a fair amount of discussion on ROD - which I like but..... Endless speculation, I'm not particularly a draft guy. Don't give two shits about the underwear Olympics (even though I have it on my TV as I write this). I don't salivate over this guy or that at whatever position. It just doesn't interest me much. I just want to see who we get in FA, who we draft, who we cut, and then get into the meat of OUR TEAM. I get hyped looking at highlights of our rookies (man I remember being so fucking psyched at watching Tavon videos) and FAs. But I just don't when it comes to watching a bunch of videos of those that MIGHT be picked by us.

We'll never know what might have happened if the Raiders or Giants offered their #1. I'm just grateful that they didnt and we are so back.
Staff and AJ back and ready to kick some ass

Agreed. Stafford and Aleric are known commodities. We may be a bit overconfident in the Rams recent drafting success. Teams have had great drafts followed by bad drafts before. Picks are no guarantee. Plus continuity is underrated.

I try to not get too invested in the offseason, until just before the draft. I’ve done good the last two seasons but when something huge pops up, like Stafford being traded, or Aleric being signed it draws me right back in. I really prefer a quiet offseason so I don’t obsess about every little move.

However, Free agency and the draft always draw me right back in for a couple of weeks.

I honestly don't believe that the Rams and Snead ever intended to trade Stafford, this whole act was just used for negotiating purposes. let us not forget as Rams fans, "In Snead We Trust".
It may have come down to a trade if Matthew refused to budge.

However, the Horns have done this sort of thing before ... way back in 1999. Their top CB, Todd Lyght, a restricted agent, was locked up in contract negotiations with the front office brass. So they allowed him to negotiate with other teams to determine his market value. He was offered a salary, which the Horns proceeded to match. This allowed Todd to be there to party with his teammates like it was 1999 as the GSOT was first unleashed against the rest of the NFL.

Yes, both of those would be 1st round value. The Raiders 2nd (37) and 3rd (68) would be late 1st round value at approx. pick 22. Depening on how much you discount the fuutre pick - a half round vs a full round - the package with the 2026 2nd would be worth anywhere from pick 21 to 25.

I suspect when the Rams said 1st round value they were talking about high to mid 1st round value which is what Rodgers went for. At any rate, I don't think they would have traded him for a 2nd and I'm certain the starting negotiating point would be a lot more.

YEP ! Is there really a better QB in 2025 to give The Rams a better chance to win The Superbowl ??

LMAO - ok - yeah sure - wtf

I get what you’re saying & all,but this is a FREAKING w-hole Notha Oganization …. HORRIBLE example

Talk about Pace then as well ?? If you want an example from Snisher or McSnead even those are different examples.

DEMOFF is an Era in itself!!! then again he lied to St.Louis which is a hole different state.Plus a different story of what made this franchise great again.

The Rams traded there HC for gosh sakes. This franchise is ran a different way.I can’t explain some of the moves & decisions.

The Rams aren’t cheap & they want the best for there players. There is SO much that goes into it all.

.Les Snead has turned into some Mad Scientist.Sort of funny & we’ll see what happens in 2025.My hope is this new GM in Jax isn’t the reason 2023/2024 drafts were SO Good.

Whose yours ??? I couldn’t even tell you. Last season was HORRIBLE!!

Parkisian - I honestly didn’t really know who he was.Thought the hags had a better(2) TE’s.He did catch a TD against the rams.

Johna Jackson ? Was he signed before Dotson ?? That’s the only reason it made sense, but then it was weird ?? NEVER wanted Avila to have to change to play center after the rookie season he had.

Curl was awesome so can’t forget about that. Then bringing back D. Williams was nice.

T”White was a disaster. WOW
I bought into it drinking the Kool-Aide big time. Thought wow Avila was the top rated center coming out in 2023.

If you go to the Draft Site it’s a good time to start dreaming & seeing how you’d puzzle it all together.

Maybe The Rams bring back EJ53 -lol

Obviously- Stafford is going to have to be involved with the process of bringing in a FA WR ??

Then what happens to Kupp. Who is the backup QB ? The combine is full swing. Is Johna Jackson a thing.:!!!!!

Signing both Alaric & Mattew

Man Albert Breer’s reporting on Stafford is pretty interesting. Just some nuggets from his piece:

On Thursday after long hard negotiations with all parties in the room, McVay asked everyone to leave the room. And he and Stafford spoke and negotiated one on one. And ultimately Stafford and McVay’s relationship, as well as Stafford’s fondness for Los Angeles, are the reasons they got a deal done.

Everyone at the combine thought the 6:30am meeting the Rams scheduled with Stafford last Friday was to tell Stafford they were moving on.

LV and NYG were not offering their first round picks in discussions. But they did offer more years and money to Stafford than what the Rams were willing to.

NYG has been targeting Stafford since the season ended. LV was more of a latecomer.

Stafford has heard through the grapevine that Rodgers has subtly told people he regrets leaving GB. Telling others that the grass isn’t always greener. Stafford kept that in the back of his mind.

If Stafford would’ve been traded to LV or NY, there was a chance Kupp would’ve been included in the package.
