Funny how Stafford put his hands to his head on the 50-yarder by Caleb Williams to tie the playoff game. I know I did the same thing as probably most of us did—very enjoyable interview.

Probably needs TWO more chips for that talk. The very rare Brady, Montana, Mahomes category. Otherwise, he sits very comfortably amongst EVERYBODY else, including Elway, Aikman, Marino etc.

I don't know about putting Elway and Aikman in the same catagory as Marino and a different catagory than Mahomes. There's Brady's 10 SuperBowls, 7 Lombardi's and then everybody else.
Mahomes 5 SBs, 3 wins
Elway 5 SBs, 2 wins
Montana 4 SBs, 4 wins
Bradshaw 4 SBs, 4 wins
Aikman 3 SBs, 3 wins
23 Quarterbacks have been to multiple Super Bowls
39 QBs have won at least 1 Super Bowl
Stafford is in a group of 16 QBs with 1 SB appearance and 1 win.
He's also in a group of 23 QBs with 1 SB win.
I'd say 1 more win would separate him from those two groups.
There's 13 QBs with at least 2 wins and just 5 with 3 wins.
So 2 more wins would put him in that second tier with Mahomes, etc.

And yet Marino is far superior to Aikman and Eli IMO. Football is the ultimate team game. SBs are a great achievement as a team, but they are not the ultimate measuring stick for any one player.... at any position.

Absolutely agree with all of that. But......
On that last part, it seems when talking about Stafford's HOF chances, many fans say, "he needs another SB win" or (previous to last year) "he needs an MVP". My opinion has always been (previous to his SB win) "he's already a HOFer". His longevity, toughness and career rankings make it so. Just like Dan Fouts and Warren Moon, neither of whom won a SB or MVP. Fouts was "robbed" at least once, finishing 2nd to Earl Campbell in 1979 and 2nd to PK Mark Mosely (which is totally ridiculous!!!!). The closest Moon came was 1990 when he finished 3rd in the voting behind #2 Randall Cunningham and winner Montana.
Other than Fouts and Moon, we can look at the HOF and find guys who never played in a Super Bowl simply because it wasn't around when they played. But most had NFL Championship Game appearances and wins.

Sonny Jurgensen 0 - 0 (played until 1974, the last couple of years as a backup)
Once #9 won a SB he was a sure thing HOFer, IMO. Just like Namath, Stabler and Steve Young. Now with his MVP, he's a no doubt about it-HOF lock. He doesn't need another accolade, though he has a great chance to get one (or 2). Consider even without the SB title and MVP, he's #6 in career passing yards and if he plays and stays healthy this year and next he'll pass #5 Rodgers (-1758 yds) and quite possibly #4 Favre (-7322 yds); #6 in completions (563 behind #4 P. Manning); #7 in TDs (75 behind #5 Favre). The guy has certainly put together a HOF career and as luck would have it after languishing with a shitty franchise like the Lions, he got traded to a top flight, class organization in the Rams, won a SB and an MVP. As if he planned it that way!!!!

Stafford is ALREADY a Hall-Of-Famer.
His induction was clinched the night of 2/13/22 (as you said)
My mistake in that list is Van Brocklin played in 6 NFL Championship games winning 2. I forgot about his years with Philadelphia (1958-1960) culminating in the 1960 Championship (backed up by Sonny Jurgensen, who took over in 1961....) and his retirement. Everyone knows the story, he believed he was "promised" the Eagles HC job upon retirement. Didn't happen, so he took the Vikings HC job for 1961. Not that he was successful in Minnesota (29-51-4) or Atlanta (37-49-3 ) but the Eagles went 10-4 with Jurgensen in 1961 and had just 1 more winning season (9-5 in '66) from 1962-1977, until Dick Vermeil finally made them winners again (9-7 in '78 and NFC Champs in '80). Wow, Rams-Eagles history has a lot of interesting connections....Van Brocklin, Vermeil, etc. 1949 CG, 1989 WC Game, 2001 CCG, breaking Wentz's leg in 2017, Divisonal game in 2024, 6-1 vs McVay). 2026 CCG???

And, the Roman Gabriel trade in the Spring of 1973 kick-started 8 straight playoff appearances, brought-back Harold Jackson, "Touchdown" Tony Baker and multiple draft choices that would turn into John Cappelletti and six-time Pro Bowler Dennis Harrah.
That was a sad day for 12-year-old me ... Losing my favorite Ram player. Had no idea who Chuck Knox was; and John Hadl looked really old even back then when men seemed to age more quickly and look older.
Did I mention what a Dumb kid I was? That trade was a great one for the Rams.
Gabriel was my favorite too (along with a million other Rams fans, I suppose) but Harold Jackson became my favorite instantly. Rams traded for the NFL's receptions and receiving yards leader of 1972. I watched him in Philly for 4 years prior to the Rams re-acquiring him. That guy was one of the very best.
I was also a Gabriel fan. My Mom sent a request to the lA Rams (address: La Rams, Los Angeles, Ca) and they sent me an autographed picture of Gabe. I loved it. Wish I still had that picture.
Over the years, I've bought a few Rams souvenirs (and NYY).
Autographed photos of Gabriel, Jackie Slater, Deacon, Tom Mack and Dickerson.
I have a few autographed jerseys too. Deacon, Mack, Youngblood and AD. I only have 3 cases for the jerseys so I had Youngblood, Mack and Deacon displayed before we moved. Still haven't got them up again though the photos are mounted.
Then there are those impulse buys right after the Super Bowl.....the framed 4 tickets of the 2021 postseason.
