But ... do you not think they have a pretty good idea of who can or cannot contribute by watching them in practices? It's not just Fisher who's evaluating their progress. It's Boras, Groh, McGinnis, and Smith, and they all come to these decisions together. Cooper has had some snaps, and he's not looked great. Higbee has had some snaps; and quite frankly, he's looked awful. Spruce has been injured. Thomas is buried on the depth chart, because he's pretty raw (like Brian Quick was). I'm sure they'll continue to work these guys into games and give them more snaps, but none of them have done (or shown) anything to unseat the incumbents ... yet.

"Higbee has had some snaps; and quite frankly, he's looked awful".

Tight ends take a long time to develop - the probability of a rookie tight end posting respectable numbers is almost zero

Everybody drops the ball from time to time.
I just hope he is more like the guys you spoke of and
not like what Jared Cook became.Drops in too many
key situations made his drops outweigh his production.

I do too.

Oh no doubt. I wasn't bagging on him in as much as I was saying he's not ready to "get thrown in there". He literally looks lost.
Over the past decade, these are the best rookie TEs could manage in their first year (top 15).

Mike Thomas will be the reason that we won't regret letting Quick walk.

There had better be NO bidder higher than the Rams. Donald's career is on a first ballot HOF trajectory. Letting him go should be a fireable offense.

I doubt they let Quick walk... if anything I think they let Marquez go. Imo Quick is Insurance if Britt leaves. Quick will probably be a cheaper option

I think Britt stays. He followed Fisher here and looks like a leader out there, which he wasn't in Tennessee. I think hes happy here, and is earning a decent contract. Quick, if he continues to produce, may try to test free agency.

Either way, it'll be an interesting offseason.

I still Don't get how he earned it vs 3rd stringers? Imo he's lucky he's even on the team. No room for him Britt and Quick should get majority of targets like they are... if anybody should get targets it's Kendricks or Higbee. Especially since Spruce isn't on special teams

He was the best player on the field against whomever, or whatever level of player he was going against. Does it matter who it was when your judging hands and separation when nobody else was doing it? He clearly could have played against tougher competition. What is a few snaps/throws a game go in to hurt. Ease him into it with baby steps.

Yes it does matter because most of the role he played against not even I league.... only way I see him playing is injury

I'm not at all sure that they let Quick walk if he continues to show that he might have finally "got it"...Unless he gets a stupid offer from somebody...Britt is a no- brainer imo...He's been the only thing close to a "go to" guy...After that I'm not sure..Austin of course, even if they still can't figure out how to use him...If they keep 6, it will beinteresting...Marqueze would seem to be the odd man out, but Fisher is deeply in love with him because of his ST play...At any rate, next year is a long way away...Don't even know why I'm posting this nonsensible, convoluted drivel...SORRY!!!

Good point!! I agree! Quick will act like Jenkins, and look for a Pay-Day while he can get it!!(y);)

I know I say it each year but if Goff shows up the Rams might have something going...I think it will be real interesting to see if Fisher gets an extension, because this is beginning to smell like what Fisher said wouldn't happen...I don't see them winning any of a brutal 3 game late season block including the Chetriots in New Shitville

If Keenum were playing as well as Britt, I'd be fine with Goff sitting on the bench all year.

But there's also a MAJOR difference between a #1 overall pick sitting on the bench and a 4th round pick or a UDFA sitting on the bench. If we had a #1 overall pick at WR, I think people would also be clamoring for him to play. I would be too.

You're the one who brought it up when the conversation was on the WRs. Don't make the point if you can't defend it.
