I mentioned that DeCamillis is doing a shitty job a while back. All those short corner kickoffs weren't on the Gay they were DeCamillis' plan. WTF!! So this is not the first game his crap coaching was apparent. But this is the first time it was on full display.

I also, warned about Morris allowing teams to simply grind it out and kill the clock in the process in close games. He shows he can stop it but doesn't do shit until they are on the Ram's side of the 50. WTF?!

Both of these guys need to step up or get out.

We been in ST hell for damn too long. Who can we get that will be a huge upgrade to what we have though? Last time this ST was good was when we had Pharoah Cooper. Seems too long to be in a slump like this.

Yeah I agree. Tutu should be pushing for playing time by now tbh. So McVay not working him in there is a bad sign. There's time but meh.

Would be nice if he could take our return game and make that phase threatening for once. We could really use a threat on returns.

If not TuTu, maybe send Howell back down if Michel is back at full strength, then bring up Javian Hawkins for return duty ?

I can easily forgive our ST's on the first one but after that the coaching staff needs to be on alert and they weren't.

Yeah I mean IF they're not gonna play Howell, who actually can run the ball with some physicality, then might as well do that. Michel was not himself he was not putting his head down like usual. And Hendy is doing well but he's just not a guy who's gonna make a hole.

That role of softening things up and killing clock late needs to be filled if Michel isn't 100%. Rest the dude and let Howell do his thing or bring up someone who can help us.

I’m not pissed at Morris. D is down 2 of its best 3 corners. They held them under 20 even though they stole 3 possessions.
I’m irritated with the tackling and underperforming pass rush.. which are on him… but players gotta make plays.

Pretty sure people said our first pick would be a huge factor in the return game. Add to that he's only seen 9 snaps offensively before today and I'm pretty sure he didn't have any today. Very disappointing start to his Rams career especially when we really need a return guy and could use a 3rd WR to emerge (and our QB to throw to more than Kupp).
3rd WR is Jefferson 4 is Desean Jackson I don't think there were many WR's drafted at the end of the second round this year that could leap frog those two on the depth chart

Perhaps but they absolutely could have on special teams. Besides DJax has had a couple really nice big plays but has what 15 targets in 7 games? There's always room for improvement especially when our 3rd WR hasn't done much on the year.

It seemed like today Stafford was really trying to get Jefferson more involved. I think we need to get Higbee more involved but we've got a lot of mouths to feed on offense which is a good problem to have. I'm a University of Louisville fan so I was happy when we drafted him but it's gonna take time for him to make major contributions if he ever does.

All off season what was McVay's one thing he kept pounding him every time he talked. Add speed on all 3 phases of the game. He added DJax and Atwell one is never a factor the other has been 2 games of the 7? Added Harris a non factor as well. McVay wanted speed but we're not using it.

Teams are sitting on the deep routes with DJax. To loosen that up requires using him underneath, but then he'll get hurt. Not sure what the answer is there. Maybe just say fuck it and see if he gets hurt is best.

Harris simply isn't out there enough. Which probably means he doesn't know the scheme well enough.

Like I mentioned in the other thread I think we need one more guy to step up in the passing game behind Woody & Kupp. At least this year there is some talent that might help us out. That wasn't really the case in 2020.

Jefferson has been an excellent third WR so I'm a little confused by that comment?

Excellent? 21 catches in 7 games is ok and I love the kid was surprised we kept Woods this off season. But again McVay stressed needing speed on offense added two speed WR's and they get very very little work. Van is good and could get better with more PT but excellent 3rd WR isn't what comes to mind for a guy I like a lot. Now back to the ST discussion of the thread.

I think we keep using him as we are. If teams are selling out on deep routes, we have more room underneath.

It is exactly what you want in a deep threat WR. And Staff is still tossing it his way to keep them honest.
