Couple of things:

is the NFL's rejection letter to Sorsby "sincere" or was it leaked to the media by the NFL primarily as PR spin? I mean if Sorsby's attorney, for example. pulls out 10 other supplemental draft applications from 10 other successful applicants and none of them had supporting documentation or evidence, that would probably give the inference that that reason stated in the Sorsby rejection letter was pretext and not sincere (i.e., a bunch of BS). The Sorsby rejection letter seems to have been leaked (intentionally) by the NFL to the media, which should raise the suspicion of the possibility of PR Spin over substance.

Looks like Sorsby's attorney, Jeffrey Kessler, is the right guy to put up an entertaining fight. The attorney was in the middle of both Bountygate and Deflategate and probably knows the applicable agreements as well as the NFL's in house counsel.

Not only this but NFL may have remained mum to clubs in general about their thoughts on Sorsby - rather waiting for things to play out - clubs may now have an idea of which way NY is swinging on this including that if he ever gets in I suspect he'll start with a suspension.

A year off from playing organized ball, does he even get drafted? I wonder if he could matriculate and play at a D1-aa school or DII/III at this point
I would imagine there's still a chance of suspension when he enters the draft too. NFL has a history of carrying over NCAA punishments for draftees (at least in the supplemental draft I believe).

I think this is a subtle nuking of his career with the NFL.

Subtle? It reads like the NFL is telling him to
Get Out GIF by By Any Means

It looked not only like them saying they weren't providing him with an exception but also warning every NFL team that the NFL ain't done fucking with him. He's probably going to start as a low pick or UDFA in '27 in order for teams to feel he's worth the risk.

This paints a much different story than his previous tweet. According to his account the NFL may have been negligent in their detailed explanation of the rejection.

This is a stronger case than going after the NFLPA and directly at the CBA (aside from the Supplemental Draft’s inclusion in the CBA).
Is it a stronger case legally, I'm not sure it affects that.

Sorsby is not an NFL player, is not bound by the CBA, has no membership in the NFLPA, and his counsel will appeal to them? Oh, that is funny! I bet Goodellbot had a good laugh at this tweet.

That’s not technically true. The NFL is a cartel with anti-trust exemptions including the ability to restrict new potential employees to a draft. If he weren’t bound by the CBA, any team could just sign him without the need for a supplemental draft. The very need of such an event proves he is in fact governed by the CBA as are the teams with respect to him.

I don’t think this is as slam dunk as y’all are thinking, presuming he pursues this. What’s most against him isn’t the CBA or Gooddell, but the lack of time. These arguments about potential CBA violations and labor disputes can take years to reconcile which obviously he doesn’t want to not play. He may or may not at some point get a decision, but it won’t be before the next draft unless some judge summarily dismisses his claim which again…not sure that happens. He’s already gotten a judgment in his favor.

Have there been many supplemental drafts canceled in the past ? I don’t pay attention to such things.
I don’t think it’s a question of “canceling’ a Supplemental Draft, as it is a decision of whether to hold one.

There was no Supplemental Draft scheduled for this year. A petition or application to hold one was submitted by Sorsby and his representatives. And it was denied.
