I view the Z. Evans pick as a "6th round flier."
I LOVE that the Rams put such a high priority on drafting "high character, high effort, high football IQ" guys. Rams top 3 picks (Avila, Young, and Turner) are great examples of this.
But in the 6th round, the Rams decided to go "low risk high reward" with Z Evans. He's got a lot of natural talent, but he's got a history of problems with maturity and commitment, not to mention problems with fumbling and staying healthy.
So I think the Rams would be crazy to "have a lot of confidence" in Evans at this point. Evans has to play for at least a full year to demonstrate he knows how to be a pro.
I'd be happy if Evans makes the final 53, but it also wouldn't surprise me if he were a practice squad guy or were cut.
