Point is when you are 24th or 25th or hopefully 32nd in pecking order on waivers, you won't get those higher quality fringe players that can develop. Thus its nice to have more draft picks.
For instance this year, although not a perfect situation, we have a few guys that have a shot to develop in Lawler and Trevon Young at a need position... Had the Rams only had 6 or 7 picks instead of 11, we would have had bigger hole at edge and it would have been tough to improve with waiver wire guys. Now you can always get a vet, who is not subject to waivers, but often times those guys offer no upside and are short term stop gaps at best.
So just stating that Snead's ability to generate more picks is big, especially for a team near the cap going forward and a team that is hopefully way down the waiver wire list.
Just watching the Eagles here in Philly, they had like 5 picks this year and with some injuries at WR/RB they still failed to get much if any help on the waiver wire... and they have a few holes. They are normally very active on waiver pick ups, but being last, not this year.
