When all the starters are playing he's usually the lowest graded olineman. He's had some rough moments this year. Not sure if it's the injury or maybe playing time
Limmer is the lowest graded O'lineman. He's quite a bit below Avila who is significantly below the other three starters.

Limmer's low grade is likely because he has 9 penalties.

McMahon looked like he could use two off seasons to beef up.

Jackson has played center. He was never fully healthy when he tried it with the Rams. I hope he gets another shot next summer. I like Limmer, but there is room for improvement.
I like some things from McMahon in the run particularly.
He gave up six pressures, which is not good. But, he did get some movement in the run game.
A guy to be developed for sure.
A full year off and camp and I could see him settling into the back up C spot.

Avila is struggling?
Avila has been giving up a few bad pressures a game. He was beaten badly, whiffing more than once, in pass pro vs Seattle.
He was not good when he first came back. That is understandable combing back from an injury. He has gotten better, particularly in the run game, but, he is struggling a bit.

I think the Rams will be able to get something for J Jackson this offseason.
Very doubtful it would be anymore more than a low draft pick, like a 6th or 7th.
Teams don't really trade picks for big name players anymore.
For a team to give up a decent pick for an injury prone G with a big contract doesn't seem likely.

He wouldn't save a lot of money cutting him vs. keeping him. He could be our next Noteboom, backing up all three interior positions next year.
Maybe trade bait to an OL starved team that is competitive. Maybe like Cincinnati? A bad team wouldn't spend money on him, but Cincy could use him. Maybe the Jets, if Rodgers returns and get think they can contend fir the playoffs.

His deal wouldn't be that bad considering the Rams eat his bonus money. His base salary can't be too bad.

A good team that needs OL help, would take shot on him...
Afterall we did.

A team like Cincy makes sense, unless their cap is an issue.

Sure, might only be a Dotson like trade. Give a 6th to get a 5th, maybe a little better than that.

Just might as well keep him and let him compete for a starting job next year or provide depth across the interior of the line.

Depends how much they like Dedich, who played well once he began playing. Plus of course Limmer and possibly even Leveston, and whether they like his potential.

If Jackdon just gets hurt again is it worth having him? They can save $3M of cap space if they cut or trade him.

Let's say they can get a 4th rd pick while giving back a 6th rd pick. That extra 4th, along with maybe a late 3rd, could be used to trade up for a player that might slip to the latter part of rd 2 or top of rd 3. Maybe you can get your future RT with that pick. Or maybe a CB they really like falls to late rd 2 or early 3.

So you could add $3M of cap space, rid yourself of an injury headache, and get some ammo to trade up or to just get a higher mid rd pick.

I wouldn't give him away for a 7th rd pick, but if you can get a little value for him, why not move him?

Maybe with Snead. But the Rams gave up a third for Dotson. Jackson looked very good against the Seahawks.

I think they should keep him and let him battle for the center position. They could get the most for him at the trade deadline or end of camp.

I was thinking during the day today I don't remember a bad/bonehead play from Boom during the game I'd forgotten while watching he was actually out there. And the PFF grade seems to reinforce that.
Boom is such a better LT than RT. I was pleased the way McClendon played maybe there is still hope that he can be an asset backing up Havenstein.

He would be much more useful on our team next year than that meager draft compensation or the $3.3 mil. that he would save in trade.

Limmer is not a sure thing. The insurance for Limmer and the utility as a backup for every interior position would be vital.

You've got a good point.

But we've seen the demand and price for interior lineman rise in recent years. I think, to your point, I may be wrong about it being in the offseason... but I think he'll get a ton of preseason snaps next year. You keep him around and when someone develops a glaring need for a guard, you trade him. I think of the Ernest Jones situation in this case. The Rams traded him when there was no real demand... the Titans traded him to a team that really needed to solidify the position.

I'm hoping that can get them up to a 4th. We'll see.
